I recently bought three dedicated servers with the location germany from OneProvider. It makes sense, that I need to select a OS which I want to use, but why does it take so long to be installed? Are they installing it manually? I literally waited 4-6 hours for one server.
By the way, do you think that this is a great deal? I think it beats most of the Kimsufi for example in price per performance.

That's a really good deal., you have to wait for the server set-up. after that you can do re-installation in the server admin panel.
the longest was 22hours+ based on my xp

yeah.. usual wait at some exotic location from oneprovider takes more than 24 hours.
germany is not exotic, so one can expect server ready in 3-4 hours max. or if they resell (like oneprovider) add another 3-4 hours depending upon which timezone one is living in.

I had to wait 3+ days (weekend not included) a few times for servers in France (scaleway reseller?).
I had ended up waiting for days for the installation, it's definitely sometimes done manually.
That's crazy, I didn't think that manual installations of providers still exists these days
Do they not provide 24x7 support?
No idea, but their support is quite slow. Had one server dissappear and didn't get an answer for days. That's when I left Oneprovider..

Yep.. Out of the blue the server didn't work anymore, couldn't reboot, couldn't reinstall etc. Support said there was a hardware issue but they never fixed it. That's like more than a year ago now.
I thought maybe I was doing something wrong while trying to install the OS on the server.
I ordered a server from OneProvider and received the IP address, server name, and all the usual details. However, after installing the OS, it still shows “Installation Required,” !
For new servers, I often need to reinstall the OS frequently since I do a lot of testing and experimenting. Now I’m concerned, if I reinstall the OS again later, will I keep running into the same issue every time?
Talk to their support system. It might be a template issue.
So this is the person that bought everything they had in stock.. nah just kidding
