He got a sneak peek already. He has been provided 6 servers to test and distribute ( @oloke received one from him) . So 5 more available for grabs
Feel free to ping @wadhah and @oloke to claim yours
Thanks for confirming
Once again
@wadhah and @oloke can receive dms for KS-A 2.0
For quicker access i believe @muffin can put you at the front of the line
What does one need to bribe @muffin with?
Feet pics
Now I feel extra lucky to have been able to snag my KS-MYSTERY
No way they accidently released a deal outside of FR and didn’t revert
Yea the info of "France only" is probably from Octave himself which I remember he said KS-A was to comeback... well
I hardly believe they would publish a april fool's offer for France only
Hairy yeti feet ok?
On that note, still looking for a 2288g 2x6tb
TMI. The nightmares that I’m going to have tonight now 😭😭
wasn't it only accessible via the API for a bunch of hours, and then a French-language-only landing page appeared?
that seems quite compatible "we only meant for French customers to get it [but we didn't make it impossible for others]" to me.
If you go on OVH and set France the webiste is not the same, all other region is the same. They are just quicker to publish on the French side and as It was a 1 day offer which was sold out very quicky, they probably didn't bother publishing everywhere
Nightmares or fetish?
Yeah, you are right. Ovh often on Black friday did only no setup fee promo + maybe small discounts. They dumped setup fees for KS series so I'm hoping for some nice deals.
They dumped install fee everywhere BUT it seems to not be permanent, new server release are getting these fee back, and no more comitment on a monthly basis you can only get comitment if you pay upfront 12 or 24 month and fee are waived
Encouraged
2022 BF was strong on EU market, primary with KS-LE-1.
2023 BF not too strong, they offered higher prices for same value. SYS-LE-1 got higher NVMes than previous offer.
2024 11.11 was very strong on the cheapest range. On BF the most serious offer was KS-LE-1 with 300 Mbps upload and with lottery, 2x960 GB and 32 GB RAM for 9.99 euros.
After that OVH offered Mystery. Probably it was offered primarily for French customers but if they realy want it is possible to limit the orders for specific users. However I think that they can realise high income from idling servers for cheap prices and the orders where users try to win the lottery. High amount of small moneys can be high money.
(In my country when Telenor sold the local Telenor to PPF group they offered a tarif with unlimited data for a very very low price to increase the number of customers)
Don't forget the 2024 KS-LE-A to KS-LE-E in October/November, those were 🔥🔥🔥
Yes, it was the 11.11 offer.
Send some pls
@oloke go ahead show him those feet
Need mooar feet pics
Send to @allthemtings too
He digs them weeb feet
I don't think Octave publicly admitted to the KS-Mystery being meant for French customers only. I also think a lot of people caught on to that because the product page was for France only. However if it was meant to be a global sale how hard is it really to setup a landing page a day in advance?
I know he's not completely trust-able but I think that was mainly for KS-A, but he did publicly announce bandwidth upgrades for all the ranges (KS - 500mb, SYS - 1Gb) and that did turn out to be true nonetheless.
So we're old now, talking about the good old OVH times, when it was still Octave and his geek friends making up silly names for server lines and dropping some KS-LE magic on the regular. In 20 years @allthemtings will tell his grandkids he was there when @Neoon nearly got his KS-A. When really drunk he'll talk about the KS-LE-B he nearly convinced @fredo1664 to give him. They'll listen politely and whisper, sure gran, shure ye had a e3-1245 in 2025, shure granpa, and the scalpers were selling their servers by millions on LET making a fortune. It was the golden age granpa. Not it’s all corporate race to the bottom, we heard they killed the last KS-A last year granpa.
