Compared to some providers AWS Lightsail is a steal :D

I know AWS isn't on the LET, but I've had a really good experience with it. AWS's Lightsail product is also quite affordable at $5 a month (you can even use some discount codes). In short, AWS truly deserves its reputation as the world's leading cloud server provider (market share: consistently stable at around 31%-33%). :D

    I wouldn't say a word without comparation.

@berohost I just open a ticket when I need to upgrade the CPU without extra charging (reasonable condition of course), the job done.

with @NDTN (greencloudvps) , I submitted a ticket to upgrade my existing E5 CPU VPS to one of their newer EPYC series CPU VPS offerings, which is available at the same price, and other things stay the same too. Guess what? They're asking for a $10 migration fee. By the way, this VPS expires in two months. I'm now wondering if I should even renew it.

    Just FYI

I don’t believe anything is wrong with the $10 fee. If your VPS is not part of a mass migration to a different platform and you’re requesting a manual migration, $10 is a reasonable charge. As I previously explained, the process involves several tasks: creating a new plan in WHMCS, setting up the new VM, and often keeping both VMs online to facilitate data transfer or to move the old IP to the new VM. This also includes back-and-forth communication during the migration. While some providers may offer this service for free, which is great, our scale makes it unfeasible to do so.

It's what it is. I only told the fact (and a little opinion maybe). Let the customers choose.

  • [@harris1111 said]
Maybe 10$ migration fee is for migrate from SoulsVM to VirtFusion, unlike bero host just upgrade your CPU in the same cluster (just another host, no platform migrate needed).

Or perhaps, as you said, it truly requires time, manpower, and cost. However, please also consider this: there was an incident where data corruption on a server, which was GreenCloudVPS's fault, caused almost a week of downtime for the customer. The compensation for that loss? A one-week service extension.

On a 25 USD/year plan, that translates to compensating the customer with about 0.50 USD. Yet, when a customer needs to migrate their data, the fee is 10 USD.

Again, I am just stating the facts for others to see and judge for themselves.

    Thanks for the information though.

Data corruption? They got hacked, encrypted and then styled it out with their customers... 🙃

Matteo is just so nice and humble that he will never say it in public. But I'm done with your bullshit.

You have your opinion, and we respect it. I never meant to offend anyone. You can see our posts. When users request something with a price like @DeluxHost we tag them because we know they have good prices and good quality. Don't take it the wrong way.

We understand your opinion, but this time you're wrong. We won't enter into a debate. We know we've had some problems in the comments on some posts, but I can assure you that you won't see anything like this again.

Sad show this! But probably to be expected nowadays when feelings are so overrated. One "reviewer" even clearly said that he judged by how he feels ...

O, f- off. Yes, I'm most likely the one you're referring to.

It's quite normal to speak 'bout feeling (or in other words having the impression) that something is not as good as it was. I even come up with reasons. You can agree or disagree with those, but this topic is about the question which providers are considered top providers.

And even that question is subjective, because you should take into account what is important for someone. Speed? Stability? Price? Service?

But no, @jsg comes in and call it a "sad show" because someone used the word "feeling". You know, sad is also a way of feeling, and you expressed it. So you're 100% part of it, and even more as anyone else contributing to it.

@NDTN I had issues with the Debian 12 template on multiple occations. It’s just not stable. Your support wasn’t very helpful.

Well I've mentioned the flaws in the Deb12 template a couple of times (I mean, I consider "not able to boot after installation" a real flaw) about a year or so ago, and my comments about this template on GreenCloud were based on the fact that even after that amount of time nothing changed. Thanks for confirming I'm not the only one experiencing it...

... and then there are providers who ask to just buy the other (better) VPS for its full price.

IMO a $10 one-time fee is OK as there is work to do.

    (emphasis mine)

Granted, not very generous, but still fair, a week for (almost) a week.

On a 25 USD/year plan, that translates to compensating the customer with about 0.50 USD. Yet, when a customer needs to migrate their data, the fee is 10 USD.

Again, I am just stating the facts for others to see and judge for themselves.

    Thanks for the information though.

Well, those ca. $0,5 are what a week of that VPS is worth - in both directions.
The $10 "upgrade" fee is an entirely different matter and based on a compromise (I presume) between actual work that needs to be done, temp. blocked resources, etc, and your desire to get a better system.
Plus, everyone is free to just keep the VPS they have.

I myself have 2 VPS from them, one super-cheapy ($40 for 3 yrs) with a single E5v4 vCore, 2 GB mem, 20 GB SSD and 2 TB traffic vol - and - a 4vC, 8GB mem, 60 GB SSD, 8 TB traffic vol for $45/yr, both purchased quite a while ago and with high to very high uptime.
I wouldn't consider those VPS a steal anymore with plenty Xeon Gold or Epyc available for the same or even lower price, but there's another - and important to me - factor: those VPS and @NDTN have shown to be very reliable and stable, which I can not (yet) say of a few of the relatively new on LET super-cheap providers.
But maybe it's about time to upgrade one or both of those VPS and if that costs $10 I'm OK with it.

I too don't like you. Reason is simple.

    Essential — $2.9/mo (renews at $7.5/mo · Save 62%)
    - 1 vCPU
    - 2 GB RAM
    - 40 GB NVMe Disk
    - 30Mbps Bandwidth
    - 1 TB Outbound / Unlimited Inbound
    - Linux / Windows

Because I feel your business is around novice users who lacks the expertise to realise that they can get much better hardware, connection at the same price.

You are leeching from customers in my opinion.
