It's a good decision but you know buying used products is always a gamble

Yup. I ran full sector tests on all drives, came back zero errors. Plus it's got a 5 year warranty on them, so I feel safe enough with them.

    Thanked by 2minitor BasToTheMax

Gosh, I would really appreciate it if I could get that kind of $/TB price! My friends and family have me making TrueNAS setups for them, and I am not getting close to that range. That is $6.25/TB, and the least expensive these days is aboot $11.50/TB.

Keep an eye out for their ebay store. They will sometimes have sales on stuff like that. I haven't seen that good of a deal in a while, though.

    Will do.

What is the best software for running concurrent low-level/sector disk error checking on multiple big drives?

I figure this is one of the best places to ask about recertified / refurbished hard drives . Curious about experiences of people here with vendors such as serverpartdeals or GoHardDrive on their recert/refurb drives. I've purchased from GHD in the past and honestly was overall happy, but I figure its been almost a decade!

I have a bunch of drives stored in my cabinet. How to refurbish them?

  • I've had an amazing experience with 75GXP drives :D /s

    I used Hard Disk Sentinel.
