Dedicated servers with private networks in US northeast

filteredfiltered Member
edited October 2025 in General

I'm looking for recommendations for dedicated server providers that can meet the following. At this point, I've found PureVoltage who is able to do the below at fairly competitive pricing. Literally only need a few Mbps of outbound traffic, so I'm willing to hugely compromise on bandwidth allocation for network quality.

Requirements
1. Northeast US location (i.e. - Chicago, Atlanta, Ashburn, NYC, NJ)
2. 100 Mbps public network is totally fine
3. Separate / dedicated private network (10 Gbps+, 40 Gbps would be cool)
4. Multi-homed network with a proven track record
5. Decent memory per server (192GB+ would be nice) + NVMe. Ability to add more NVMe drives to the servers later. 1 - 2 TB * 2 per server is more than enough currently.
6. No known security breaches - sorry anyone who uses ColoCrossing
7. A+B power with generators on site for at least 24+ hours [soft requirement]
8. Not a reseller (colocation with another provider is fine, but reselling is not)

Nice to haves
1. BGP announcement / BYOIP - but honestly probably a requirement, I like my ASN
2. WAF of some sort would be cool
3. IPMI requiring VPN access (otherwise NO IPMI)
4. On site cheap backup server because it's really not important, but also can't hurt?

Budget
Flexible. Would be open to spending more if the value prop is higher. Not looking for bottom of the barrel here.

Please don't
Post an offer outside of the general location mentioned. Must be USA. Must be northeast. I personally think anyone posting outside of this area should be banned for spamming.

I'm looking to build a small Proxmox cluster with CEPH, so cheaper NVMe pricing would be nice. Will spin up a few databases (ClickHouse, Postgres, KeyDB), NGINX, HAProxy, and then compute VMs on each server for redundancy sake. Would probably run a 3 node cluster to start, since I don't care about the extra twelve nines you get by running a 5 node cluster. Just want a little bit of redundancy to go from 9 to 99%, you know? This will be one site in a two site setup. :)

Ah, US-Northeast? I'll have to redraw my maps of the U.S.

Problem solved, now the FS dc moved to fantasy NJ. Thank you AI for hallucinating reality.

    Draper NJ, correct ;)

  • @actually would be nice if you would open a second spot on the east coast.

So please start founding a new city there to build a dc in. Draper as a name is fine (otherwise, Springfield is always fine as well).

Hi, we fit all of your requirements, including most of your "nice to haves". Let me know if you have any questions.

Here is what we have in stock and most are available in NJ and Miami (take a look at AMD Ryzen 7900, 9900X, 9950X for 192GB) - https://www.reliablesite.net/dedicated-servers/

    Our network - https://www.reliablesite.net/network/.

@filtered QuickPacket has Chicago and Ashburn currently (and we could potentially get something going in NYC metro and/or Atlanta if you really want to be there). We definitely meet all of your requirements. Happy to discuss further over DM or chat (Discord: qps).

  • Are you both able to confirm if we can do custom hardware, dedicated private networking, and secure IPMI (i.e. - behind a VPN and no other clients can connect to my IPMI when they VPN in)? Having 2 drives per server and being able to add more in the future would be a critical!

They joined the north this time around :D

Hi, yes to all but please send a message to [email protected]. They can confirm available upgrades for the server you want before purchasing and advise about our network setup if you have more questions.

We could do something like 2x of these configs in NYC:

    Xeon Gold 6152 (22c/44t)
    256gb ram
    2x 512gb ssd boot
    2x 1tb NVME
    10tb on 10gb
    2x 40gb uplink per server
    BGP or BYOIP

    $195/month per node

DM me, and I can get this setup

I think this would fit all your requirements, but happy to adjust based on exactly what you are looking for.
