    Yeah same old same old, change company only, nothing else.

  • Funny that LET are basically taking money from sanctioned company. Hope it does not bite one day. Btw, Colocrossing is still not banned?

  • Sanctioned hosting company comes back under different name… again…

  • You are not being careful of getting suspended by admin for “spam-like comments”? Or you know the admin is busy getting that mulla from sanctioned providers?

    Wow. Naive beyond imagination.

    1. Money above all else;
    2. Forum is only a fracture of income for Bilou;
    3. Colocrossing is untouchable.

    Not Fun but Dangerous Fact!!! Beware!

  • They sell gigabit, yet deliver a 150Mbps capped VPS, and this is allowed to advertise on LET?
    https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/ccfc2543-d4aa-4672-ad97-7dbf00d67301

    It's still not terribly bad for the country, but they're hiding behind "The speed of the common channel to each server node, the unwarranted speed of the VPS tariff.

    The higher the VPS tariff, the faster the bandwidth."
    They should just advertise the speed instead of gigabit...

    @jbiloh get it together...

    What did you rent and what did you get delivered?

    And who is sanctioned, for what and by who? I looked at the Krebs article and after 15 paragraphs my eyes glazed over.

  • @jbiloh said: What did you rent and what did you get delivered?

    I got their cheapest package in Belgium, (mistakenly ordered NL first, but they were nice enough to make it BE).

    Their site mentions 1Gbps on all BE plans, however when you actually get the VPS, even to a server which is 0.4ms away in the same DC you get 150Mbps, it is very clearly limited.
    It is always the same speed and support claims: "Sorry, but you have chosen the minimum tariff, and this is the normal speed for this tariff. The website states that we do not guarantee any specific speed."

    Apparently the normal speed for the minimum plan is 150Mbps, but they put 1Gbps on their site. At least for Belgium.

    That sucks, they shouldn't mislead their customers and potential customers.

    Are they active on LET?

  • @jbiloh said: Are they active on LET?

    "Last Active September 5" and this post/Patron Provider tag would suggest they are active here.

    that is really bad... 4vps resells them but its not that slow.

  • @concept said: that is really bad...

    I mean if they advertise it as such, it would still be a decent deal for BE, just not fit for my use-case.
    Though that is only true depending on what their interpretation of unlimited is... and if they see 1Gbps as 0.15Gbps, I think I'll be allowed to use 1TB in line with other hosts on M247.

    Can you share the package details you ordered in a screenshot here so we can see the exact words they use to describe what access to bandwidth you'll get?

    So they are Russian affiliated and their network was used for malicious activities against a UK government system?

    I found more here about the rebranding to the.hosting and connected activities to get around sanctions: https://www.recordedfuture.com/research/one-step-ahead-stark-industries-solutions-preempts-eu-sanctions

    Yes, their services were used for DDoS attacks against Ukraine, Moldova and other European countries, they provide abuse tolerant hosting linked to spreading malware and spam, connection to NoName057(16) pro-Russia hacktivist / DDoS group is mentioned in the Krebs article.

    The Recorded Future article is a good one, thanks for sharing.

    I've removed "THE.Hosting's" Patron Provider tag so they cannot advertise their services here until this situation plays out completely and a conclusion is clear.

    You remove the provider tag, but if you allow them to pay you for banners on all your websites: lowendtalk, serververify, lowendbox is crazy.

    I didn't see this until now, but I'd gladly share this with you.
    Where can I contact you for this? It seems like they are not willing to refund, though I gave them a 24h deadline just now.

    If they do not refund I will escalate it to PayPal and hope they side with me. (not like I'm going to die missing 6Eur, but I'm not gonna let them get away with it either)
