EDU domain name

Hi folks,
I have a small academy online that start to be pretty serious and I am wondering if any of you have any tip or trick to have a .edu domain name or just mx (email) for my student who are complaining that I don't have (I love them, but they are damn picky)
Visibly this give them some advantages in their country.
Goal would be to pair it with the awesome deal of @NameCrane

Thanks in advance

You need to be a real, accredited school as far as I know. Sorry, no software student discounts for you.

Note that I do not need it for myself, i am actually a student of other uni.
I have seen the verification needs and in fact my academy is qualified in almost all point except, you guess right: Being american. We are not (and do not want to be) based in America and do not qualify.
What i find strange is that for exemple my UNI is french and does have a .edu mail
so i am thinking there is something to do

Yes, exactly. Center of the page, the word "Accredited" appears.

    Neat school.

    .edu.pl

a disposable email provider had a domain in that space but it disappeared. it was nearly the greatest thing ever

temp-mail.id now is playing a war of attrition with adblock-blocking-blocking-blocking

There are some non-US entities with .edu domains

Old rules were different, and existing domain were grandfathered. But you won't be able to register a new .edu domain if not fitting the current Institutional Eligibility criteria (it might be that it changes in the future, but I really doubt the US restriction is going would be lifted).

Note however that whatever benefits the students wanted with a .edu email address may still be available for them, although requiring some more bureaucracy to prove that you are indeed an academic institution.
