Hey @jacky2f that's great!
MassiveGRID 3 years vs Dedirock 7$/Year VPS? Which is good?
Yo Yo, everything is E5 v2 at the moment. Is v3/4 wanted?
Someone is doing a 3 year deal?
What is your use case? I currently have both. I have had my MassiveGRID server since they ran their big LET offer (maybe 8-12 months ago now) and I have only had this Dedirock server for 3 weeks or so. MassiveGRID provides us with more bandwidth and is 2-3x faster (in a best case scenario). Unfortuantely MassiveGRID is oversold so badly that it is often not very usable. Hell even just scp'ing files to MassiveGRID sometimes is super fast but other times keeps timing out and can take 10-20x normal to finish. Dedirock is more a slow but steady workhorse (think about the hare vs turtle race). I haven't had any major issues (I'm in NY I know others in LA have had issues) or any other hiccups to speak of yet.
So if you have burstable workloads that aren't critical and won't affect your outcome if they finish quickly or not MassiveGrid might be a good fit. For example, compiling tasks are often going to be much faster on MassiveGrid vs Dedirock. But if are running a daemon or something that you want to be accessible at all times and isn't super heavy I think Dedirock is probably a better choice.
Personally I think both were worth my $7/year as I have found use cases for them but I constantly get annoyed and frustrated with my MassiveGrid server while my Dedirock has been nothing but a pleasure thus far.
Hope that helps!
oh wow, everyone get double.
is it also applied on 7$/y plan?
@DediRock

A bunch of providers, used the word "Family" before.
For their marketing chenaniganza.
In the end, they deadpooled, left me in the dark, alone.
Hence the PTSD
Cool, yep You bet man, bandwidth is doubled and we added IPv6
thank you!

Pretty bold doubling bandwidth in a thread requesting review of your service buddy.
It's literally part of the special the OP is referencing...
No bratha, what about you?
Edit: now that I gave it a thought, I did learn some karate as a kid 🤣
Fortune favors the bold
Nice, ya wrestled high school and college, loved it. After all the weight cutting those years gives a different perspective on things
ahhh okay tracking, well as data I always keep a large reserve that can essentially float the biz for a full year. So IF I ever wanted to make some change, no customers would ever be impacted and fully responsibility is taken.

I picked up the $7/year plan to host Uptime Kuma and it's doing great. Now I just need another $7/year VPS from a different provider to monitor the uptime of it 😂
