why does contabo have a rating of 4.5 on trust pilot and netcup has 3.9?

especially when we all know the second provider is Miles better than they ever could be

The proper question is why trustpilot is shit

  • And OVH has 3.7. If you go to even dumber sites like Hostadvice, all the shitty overpriced shared hosts have the best rating, yet unmanaged server giants like Hetzner and OVH have the worst.

Really it's not the company, just dumb reviews when you have dumb people who do not know how to work stuff out.

  • they don't know I don't work stuff out with actual good companies but they can work out stuff with contabo? isn't that a bit contradictory considering the fact that they're probably the most hardest to work on a solution with

  • Because kyc starts the drama before you even paid for a service.

It's because these hosts are designed for so-called "mere mortals" who don't know anything about tech outside of how to use an iPhone. These hosts have phone support, site builders and flashy ads, which raises the price.

These shared hosts probably also pay for placement.

OVH and Hetzner and LET hosts (including us at Fourplex) are designed for tech savvy users. We know about Linux and basic networking. We know what we're getting.

It's like comparing a pre-built HP Pavilion desktop to a custom Ryzen 9950X gaming PC, each have different audiences. Your mom won't want a high-end custom-built desktop and your gamer son won't want a low-end HP PC.

  • Probs because netcup tries its hardest to ruin everyone’s credit score if they don’t terminate properly. Fortunately I don’t need a credit score or plan to pay as it’s only like 7 euros not worth getting the card out but they can have fun spending money on the letters.

So anyway I haven’t left a bad review yet but I would assume there where my complaint would be targeted towards. And that they don’t work weekends.

  • 1 fake good review.
    2. hetzner, netcap all asking for customers photo ID cards and go after them with debt collectors.

  • Need I say more ?

    TrustPilot is trash.
Majority of the negative reviews we get are spammers/fraudsters that we didn't let order or suspended/terminated their service.
With no way to dispute such and have TrustPilot remove these nonsense reviews/lies, the site cannot be taken seriously.
I can only assume the same for most providers.

  • The proper way to use trustpilot is only read one star reviews, the five stars reviews don't mean much since they're usually bought. I always appreciate reading the reviews about KYC especially since then I know who NOT to sign up with.
