Proxmox Automation with Billing Systems

I’ve got a couple of Proxmox nodes running, with a few hundred simple VMs in total nothing fancy, just 1 core, 1 GB RAM, and 40 GB disk each. Right now, I’m doing everything manually: starting and stopping VMs, setting them up, and even keeping track of billing for customers every month.

I’d really like to automate this as much as possible. Ideally, I want something that can connect all my nodes together (they’re all on different networks/ASNs) and handle billing too. For example, if I create a client with a 30-day or 60-day billing cycle, it should automatically spin up a VM with the right specs, start it, and then remind me when their billing period is coming to an end.

I’m using the Proxmox community edition since my clients are seasonal and it doesn’t make sense to buy an enterprise license.

What I need is advice on what tools or platforms I can use for this. I’d prefer open-source options to keep costs down, but I’m open to paid solutions if there’s no good free alternative. Mainly, I just want to get rid of the headache of managing billing mainly.

No online payment system is needed since all of my customers pay in cash.

We offer a relatively cheap whitelabel version of our control panel with hourly billing and all you need to run an hosting and you can plug your proxmox nodes.

  • Wtf, pay in cash? How’s that work? Do you have some slum shop with register and accept clients physically?

Could just be serving a local market, B2B.

or maybe via payment services, like remitly, money gram, WU, paymob, and those BS services that have shops that accept the cash and deposit in receiver's account.

Thanks, I’ll surely think about it in the near future.

Looking at Paymenter now. Seems like a good option for me. Thanks.> @Levi said:

Right now I’m only serving a couple of local crypto node customers. They’re not very tech-savvy, and unlike typical customers, they can’t just go online, grab a VPS, pay, and manage it themselves. That’s why I haven’t invested in a payment gateway yet.

    nvm. it has btcpay plugin.

    Looks really nice.

  • I've seen people use convoy panel, maybe you could take a look (I'm not sure if it can achieve what you want).
