I have seen people, with like 30 VPS's in the same, Location.
Why?! I am not gonna call these people out but they are among us.
Idk get a dedi or something.
IPv4.
Maybe in some cases.
When I see that any promotion is published, they only comment 7$year, it's like the TikTokers who publish videos Come on my people, click on the screen please!!!
Yeah it’s basically the exct same thing I agree
This is why we can't have nice things.
Because they just wanna Air or maybe you haven't been near Moscow City.
Oops, they don't bought them there, but...
Btw the same situation with 17 for me in Saint-Petersburg.
On topic:
Buying an annual plan is like buying a pig in a poke, especially with new providers. But I agree with @zGato in terms of fault tolerance, 10 VPS from different providers for a year is better than 5 monthly. I can't yet say how much more cost-effective it is.
I am to lazy to renew it if i think the vps is worth it. And of course for lower fees And more discount, i won't try it if the provider not worth a yearly plan
Blesta allows partial payment of an invoice.
If you have $3/year idler, split it to three $1 payments, and then it’ll be covered by three credit cards.
@kuroit can you make my monthly payment into annual payment and provide an additional 32% discount or something
For me, it’s just to avoid feeling guilty about wasting money on idlers. I sure as hell don't wanna be reminded about this every freaking month
I like point 4
seems to be the sweet spot.....
There is a risk that the customer will cancel it the next 11 months when the billing cycle is monthly. For the vps provider, I think it's a mathematical problem based on statistics and probability.
I like annual payments, if the price is attractive, which for me isn't $7 (because those usually are bottom of the barrel) but say $/€15 to 20 -or- if I know that quality and bang per buck is good.
And if the provider is known to be good and reliable and the offer/price is attractive I even like triannual deals.
Reasons (like others already said) (a) usually cheaper, sth. like pay 10 months, get 12, and (b) I dislike bookkeeping as well as the payment dance; once a year is bloody enough.
That said, when I buy a VPS pretty much for testing only I almost always buy for a single month only.
Can't remember that much, life is so busy idling
If provider is reputable and respectable - no problems to pay for 24-36 months in advance or sign a contract.
To decide I do thorough KYB with data analysis via xAI, claude.
Keep renewing is annoying
Thank you for everyone's response. Personally, I have received some useful information. I hope that others have too.
Finally, I want to say that anyone who wants to pay for a long-term period can do so under our terms. We no longer restrict long-term prepaid plans. Customers can add money to their balance to pay for one, three, six months, or the full year. Also If they choose to subscribe to the service for more than a month, prices will be frozen for the paid period.
However, to be honest, we are not interested in collecting money from customers in advance for long time period. This is because we do not need to finance ourselves too much, and we prefer to have just enough assets to cover monthly expenses. This simplifies our business accounting and financing processes.
That's not being clever, that's being a cunt.
I'm fond of 3 day plans. 🤭
annual plans save time
BTW, I read many complaints about wasting time on monthly subscriptions.
In our system, you can add money to your account for a full year or even several years and subscribe to the monthly service. If you choose the auto-renew option, money will be taken from your account each month and you will receive a confirmation that the service was paid. It seems that not all providers allow this.
because they love the thrill of having to move to a different host when the one they prepaid a year for deadpools
just gamble gamble gamble gamble gamble gamble gamble gamble
This seems like annual subscription with extra steps. Maybe useful for people who have a lot of services with you though.
Agreed with you:)
Yes, because several services can be paid for from one balance. Also, customers can subscribe to a long-term service if they want. The advantage of this is that the prices are frozen over the long term, while monthly services prices may change at any time next month.
That was super duper
hahaha
intentionalmonthly deal, so some of you will forget to payYou get good at reading the signs and skipping the deadpools-in-waiting. Or maybe that's just me, I'm brilliant.
I can't remember any host poofing while I was a customer. Maybe Alpharacks? But I think they'd been "acquired" and I was in year 2 when the new business name died, so not even sure it counts.
There were a few that died after I already left (remember brilliant).
