Free Minecraft DDoS Protection + Performance

Recreating this thread, the rules changed, I didn't realize there was an approval process for freebies.

We've been working on Launchmc.com for a long time. It's designed by a cloudflare-like service geared toward Minecraft. Providing improved latency and DDoS protection with any provider (or home hosting!!).
We have soft launched and wanted to get some feedback from server owners on how to continuously improve this product. We also have a discord available.
I ask one thing, be nice and respectful, this is a completely free service that we're hoping to evolve into an awesome platform. Please keep conversations on track toward improvement of the product, I will not discuss anything outside of feedback for LaunchMC.

Separating this out into multiple posts because people don't read and skim over long posts.
How it works: LaunchMC Docs (super short read, lots of pictures!)
As for latency improvement, we currently only have 4 PoPs. As the number increases, there will be obviously improvements, right now, if you aren't next to a pop, you'll probably see a slight latency increase.
We will deploy additional PoPs closer to players.
Current PoPs as of Sept 1, 2025:
-Singapore
-Los Angeles
-Miami
-Germany
Post #3 - again, because people skim over long posts.
DDoS Protection - right now, we have our own platform sitting on top of NeoProtect + DF. We aren't limited to a specific provider, but it allows us to absorb super large attacks while adding our protection layer on top.
Feedback: The Discord channel is the preferred method of feedback. I please ask you to not insert any opinions unless you have a Minecraft server and have actually fully deployed and used the service.
<<<<<<<< THIS IS A FREE SERVICE. >>>>>>>>
Not a lot of replies here, but a bunch joined the Discord. Lots of great feedback and usage!
We need more usage to help us decide the best location for future PoPs.
I'll comment. It's cool that you're providing this for free right now. There's clearly a market for DDoS protection on game servers. Good luck!
I would say maybe because of this
100% - I mentioned this. Just need to make sure this continues to get seen and we continue to get usage so that the platform improves.
If you have small, personal servers, we want to see that usage too. We're looking to add PoPs and the players will define where those are to continue to decrease latency.
Nice stuff, I can finally switch from TCPShield!
Just one thing though. Upon registering, it seems your service doesn’t have support yet for custom domains. Any plans to add this soon?
Can you add it to the suggestions channel in discord?
Let us know how the switch over goes, we're looking to get more regular traffic on the platform to really push the limits (and have an excuse to add more PoPs).
Sure, will do
India pls
+1, (Excuse for Radic!)
Let's see some constant traffic from India!
We're constantly updating and improving the platform. Pushing a change today to prevent IP spoofing in very rare cases.
Yesterday included a large number of performance improvements.
This improvement is now live.
Seen alot of improvement with launchmc in past few days. Would recommend anyone who is on a lookout for ddos protection/bot protection on minecraft servers.
Big announcement:

V2 has been released!
-Players can now connect without going through the entry page.
-Server owners can now either provide the LaunchMC ping test page or list the connection IPs directly on their own website.
We're all ears! Tell us what features you want.
Remember, we have a discord at https://discord.launchmc.com
We're getting to launch another PoP based on player demand! It'll be announced soon.
Not a Minecraft server host myself, but have used reliable site and I think whoever is leading strategy deserves some props for this move.
They've gone from not specifically advertising protection -> ddos protection included free on all servers -> offering specialised L7 services on top of that. (separate brand/product, sure)
Having all the prerequisite experience with servers, networking, etc rather than reselling another provider is definitely a strong play.
Will keep LaunchMC in mind if myself or a friend ever needs to protect a Minecraft server
hell yeah that sounds very cool update.
Sao Paulo PoP is now live!
Congrats on the new PoP @MrRadic
This is really cool, I see a lot of potential use with homelab users.
Might be worth checking with r/admincraft mods for a post, I believe their rules allow it. I constantly see people asking or talking about homelab hosting and ddos-protection/hiding their IP.
A lot of bug fixes today based on user feedback:
-Banning system now fixed
-Live connections not showing in the dashboard correctly
-Fixed an issue with deletion of servers.
-Fixed an issue where editing a server didn't sync with the forwarding engines.
WE NEED MORE USAGE/FEEDBACK!!!! WE WANT TO MAKE THIS PLATFORM SUPER AWESOME.
We're currently working with the community to develop a Minecraft plugin that will show the real source IPs and integrate the ban system.
Sao Paulo was taken offline temporarily due to limitations with GCore's anti-DDoS. We have a potential work-around. I'll hopefully know soon.
Sao Paulo is live again.
Here's my latency from Miami:

We're prepping some cool metrics features that we'll be rolling out soon. Also working on a plugin for servers to show/ban real IPs using the API.
If you're an experienced developer, we would love your help!
Now you can place the connection and latency information to each of our PoPs directly on your website with our new widget.
Documentation: https://docs.launchmc.com/widget-implementation
Connection metrics are live! You can view a history of player connections through LaunchMC to your server directly from the dashboard (https://dashboard.launchmc.com/).
