@dosai
I received your key. Thanks for sending.
It turns out that I can't give you Debian 13 right now. Since an update of the Ubuntu node a few days ago, new Debian VMs don't seem to want to boot any more. Plus existing Debian VMs might be experiencing variation in disk I/O. However, new Ubuntu VMs seem to work fine! A new OpenBSD VM also works great!
Right now I have some IPv6-only Ubuntu VMs. I allocated one to you. If you don't want it, please let me know, and I will release the allocation. If you do want it, let me know, and I will add your key and PM you login details.
Thanks again for your request! Thanks to Alexhost for the nice server node!
Hi @lol_fire!
I allocated a free VPS for you! Welcome to the server!
Please go ahead and PM your ed25519 ssh public key. When I receive your key, I will add it to your VPS and PM you login info.
Best wishes! Thanks for your request!
Tom
P.S. Thanks Alexhost!
I want it with the Ubuntu iso. Thanks.
@kainjinez
Thanks for the link to your Github repo!
I added the key from your repo to the VPS.
I will PM you login info. When you get a chance, please post here to let us know if you get in and if everything seems okay.
Thanks again for your request! Thanks to Alexhost for the nice server!
Best wishes!

Good morning!
At this time there are 9 VPSes assigned in LA and 0 available.
This morning I heard that there was $100 of credit remaining in the account which was funding the LA server. The donor said that an additional $20 would permit the server to be renewed for another month, until November 10, 2025.
Does anyone want to contribute the $20?
Hi Tom,
.
I can now access to the server. I'll start deploying things on it. Thank you both @alexhost for the free server
Have a nice day!
I have already received a free VPS, and I hope that your free VPS service can benefit more users.
@kainjinez
Great news! You made my day already!
If/when you have time and inclination, please tell us a story about your install process or the services you are running. Or something else. . . .
No rush, no worries!
Always best wishes! Thanks Alexhost!
Welcome back! You were missed! How was your trip?
Good morning!
OnlyServers has kindly extended their donation of the London server until January 25, 2026!
Thanks to @dan_onlyservers!
Wow~ I would like to have one.

I want to use this to deploy tools like Uptime Kuma.
If ok, I could sent you Pub key in PM!
Thank you @alexhost .

Thanks for your request!
I see you have a very new account, so welcome to LET! You will enjoy!
Right now the FOSSVPS website needs updating. FOSSVPS has more clients than the current totals show, and the IPv6-only VPS type needs to be added.
Making a few more VPSes to give away also is needed.
Maybe you could kindly give me a week or so to catch up?
Maybe you could read the FOSSVPS.org website home page if you haven't already read it?
Can you share any additional information about yourself so we can get to know you a little?
There is a list of pending requests at https://fossvps.org/list.html. I will add you to that list.
Best wishes!
Tom
Pretty well
Great news from @fmxm!
The FOSSVPS Los Angeles node has been extended until November 10, 2025.
The Alexhost Chisinau node and the OnlyServers London node recently were extended an additional three months each.
FOSSVPS is now up to 40 clients running free VPSes on our three nodes. A fourth node is in the works.
Additional details at https://fossvps.org.
You can see the status of current VPS requests at https://fossvps.org/list.html.
Thanks to all our generous donors!
Thank you for participating and thank you for extending your commitment, I really appreciate it all!
It’s you and those who sponsor that deserve even more gratitude.

Hi!
There is a reboot upcoming on the Chisinau node. Probably tomorrow. There are normal updates plus I need to add a few additional IPv4 addresses. I will post again before and after the reboot.
Thanks again to Alexhost for the Chisinau node and for the additional IPv4s!
Best wishes!
Tom
P.S. Everyone has backups, right!?
don't forget to remind them to jiggle the wire after the reboot so it comes up!
The system uses Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
I want to run a Docker project, such as for API testing.

Please use a random password for the key.
Thank you. @alexhost
Hello!
Trying to work with Alexhost to adjust configurations for the five new IPv4 addresses which they kindly provided.
Also there are normal apt-get updates and a reboot.
It looks like the reboot probably will not happen today. I will post again when more information is available.
Thanks everyone! Best wishes!
Tom
Hi @shouyun!
Thanks for your request!
Could you please provide a link to the source code of the Docker project that you want to run?
How can I help you use ssh for greater security?
Double thanks!
Tom
Chisinau reboot still coming, maybe tomorrow morning, maybe about 16 hours from now. . . .
Thanks!
Following update and upgrade, the Chisinau server reboot finally happend at Mon 22 Sep 2025 12:35:18 AM UTC.
Prior to the update, upgrade, and reboot I believe we successfully applied changes to the netplan configuration.
I think the server will need a power bump, like previously, so I have a ticket open with Alexhost.
Thanks!
Hello! The Chisinau server is back up following a hard reboot. All the VPSes seem to be running. Any problems, please let me know! Best! Tom
Hello again! I thought everything was okay, but now I suspect significant problems.
The Chisinau node came back up after the hard power reset. I could log in to the node remotely, and on the node it appeared that all the VPSes were running. I got into my test VPS via Qemu console from the node. Everything at first seemed okay!
But I couldn't make a new VPS using one of the newly assigned IPv4s. Additionally I discovered that I could not connect via ssh to my test VPS, either remotely or from the node, although other connections, for example to icanhazip.com, seemed to work.
Looking at dmesg on my test VPS suggests issues with the new netplan configuration.
My guess is that at least some remote ssh connections to VPSes might not be working. Maybe other remote connections to VPSes still work.
My guess is that it might take quite a while to troubleshoot and resolve the issues. Apologies!
One idea I have is to revert to the former netplan configuration, which was working on all the previously assigned IP addresses but not the newly assigned addresses.
Another idea is to reinstall the server node, to get it rebooting without needing a power bump.
