got 4 in Europe, lets wait for delivery.
Impressive, hope they have Mumbai in VPS lineup as well.
Just available in VPS-1?
Finally, thank you OVH. Have been hoping for this since I saw their VPS map.
@Hetzner_OL
Yes, previously you can purchase those VPSes in the Public Cloud section, for like $40 per month. Now it's only $6 per month for the same configuration - impressive.
yep
Yea the local zones are used to be overpriced as fuck, lets see how the YABS is coming along.
OVH: Please now add Milano, Rabat, Scandinavia and Ireland
Lovely, lovely.
PS: I won't open the OVH US site, just ordered all EU locations for testing already
Wondering if they will forget to update the small print ("* Our VPS solutions in the Asia-Pacific region (Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney) come with a set monthly quota: 1 TB for VPS-1 and VPS-2, 3 TB for VPS-3 and VPS-4, 4 TB for VPS-5 and VPS-6. Beyond this, the bandwidth is capped at 10 Mbps.") when Africa, ME, South America or Auckland starts...
Can you upgrade it to larger in these zones ?
Any full YABS test?
Hm by the ips issued I seem to be client No#12-17 in testing out the new locations. Do they hand those out in a sorted manner?
Disk speed looks really bad
Sth. is wrong with the disk speed in those yabs - maybe attached storage located somewhere else? Or what is going on here?
Disgusting disk speeds and also the bandwidth seems quite bad.. gosh
VPS-1 - Netherlands, Amsterdam
Hey @Neoon would you mind sharing the IPv4 subnets of the local zones you tested for some traceroutes?
CZ: 141.227.135.0/24
MS: 141.227.133.0/24
AU: 141.227.165.0/24
SP: 141.227.129.0/24
Regarding disk speed: OVH Public Cloud has always implemented precise I/O throttling policies, so disk speed is a fixed parameter they specify.
Regarding network speed: During previous testing, their network speed limits in the local zone were not strict, regardless of the model. However, they are now implementing speed limits.
VPS - 1, US Palo Alto
Ah right, they seem to throttle disk at 1k iops.
As always, OVH routing is weird to some providers in Dallas. Ping is around 30ms.
Good CPU at least, but those disk are hot ass compared to the original offer
I personally think OVH is conducting a pilot program, as they only offer the VPS-1 option.
Disk speed issues are actually quite normal. These issues are likely due to public cloud services removing some features to lower prices. Public cloud services, like AWS EC2, have different limits for different server tiers and don't directly use local disks.
Network wise, Austria and Czech seems to be worth buying.
Madrid goes straight back to France for everything....
Marseille goes back to Italy.... well
