HostSlick network maintenance every month?

oddmariooddmario Member
edited September 2025 in Outages

HostSlick keeps performing a "dark fiber maintenance" every month and it's always from 11:30PM CEST till 6AM CEST

During the maintenance everything goes down completely.
~6 hours of downtime every month isn't acceptable

What could they possibly be doing? will they ever stabilize whatever requires a monthly maintenance?

@HostSlick any explanation??

There has never been 6 hours downtime. This is wrong. Currently its also up during maintenance, just reduced capacity during this time and some packet loss. The router needed a bit to re-route however when it started.

Sometimes its done within a hour, sometimes it took longer i see. And June one there was no single affect even,

We have forwarded this from our datacenter.
    Its standarized email i guess.

Is there any particular reason not asking me via support?
Im glad to help further on that and possibly give you more info from our datacenter if interested. Should you still face any downtime, same goes here.

We always stay up during maintenance window to make sure all is working and respond to tickets related to this in timely manner.

Last years there was 1-2 maintenances per year in total. This year has been more frequent indeed.

More dark fiber paths are being implemented till end of this year also

With that all is said. :)

Thank you for caring to respond.
Unfortunately though for real-time sensitive applications, "packet loss" can mean full downtime.

I've been pinging the server IP for for 30 minutes and it's at 80% packet loss right now. this isn't really good for applications that need to maintain a persistent connection otherwise it'll keep dropping everything

yes good i see it because sometimes i dont login to LET for days.

The datacenter is as said implementing another dark fiber, so for this kind of maintenances there is enough capacity in the future.

Glad we could answer your questions. IF you need further help regarding this, we are there via Ticket and will see.

Otherwise i guess, have a good night (depending on which timezone you are of course.)

  • Down. Again. Exhausting.

  • my VPS has been down for 6+ months and they refuse to refund, so consider yourself lucky.

    6 months!
    That's wild.

You have an active paid service that has been offline for 6 months?
After a couple of weeks, I would just update the ticket daily till it gets resolved.

  • You know what they say: If it's maintenance, it can't be labeled as downtime!

    Many reguards.

Why are you still suspended here?

  • My VPS has been down for almost 2 months. Don't know how long more until he's willing to give a shyt :D

  • to provide such trash, its mandatory to do so often maintenance

  • I might forgive all this for $3/yr deals.

    Lol, why?
It'll be down most of the time...

  • At least my ticket was answered - in record time.
Can't believe you'd do a migration in the middle of the day and "miss" people on the email.

    hello,

it seems we missed you on the email we sent about server migration. We migrated the server yesterday to other Nodes,

    the IP is X

your server and data was all migrated over to this, featuring better hardware and 10G port

If you have any other questions or inquiries please let me know!

    Kind regards,

Was an annual plan that has been down more then up. Needless to say I won't be renewing or using this host ever again.

  • How many months before deadpool?

    Same.
I'm lucky mine in renews in 6 days. One of the worst VPS' I've had in a long time.

Edit: just checked the service in the billing panel - there's an outstanding cancellation request on it, that I did not request. Guess they're doing me a favour.

Probably already did, with so much complains and so many servers down
