@HostSlick - I can understand if you can't offer a specific service. I can understand you need to put food on your plate. I can also understand if you need a vacation due to mental strain. But please be honest about it, be open about it, and take a clear decision which fixes the root of the problem. Please don't ignore other customers or your whole business, if a specific offer in the past causes you problems.
If an offer from Black Friday of 2023 causes serious damage, simply discontinue it and compensate users for the remaining time. Or you can simply disable their renewals, notify customers by email and tickets, then keep the services active until the end of billing term if you are still able to. This way customers will have lots of time (more than a month) to ask for refugee offers around here.
But whatever you choose, don't degrade your business just because you did a mistake in offering some deals which cause you many problems in abuse or in support lines. The extremely cheap offers are a great marketing strategy, but in extremely limited quantity to very active members of this community who won't abuse such offers and cause even more support mess.
no one forced your hand to give specials. no one forced you to announce that you wont be providing VPS deals anymore and yet still continue providing.
your rebuilt hardware is equally as shit as before if not worse on shitty SSD with shit IO that was never addressed for the past year.
if you cant provide support then stop dealing with VPS and focus on your glamorous 500 dedicated servers pushing X gigabits per second.
when times are good you have some nice profile pic mocking Calin.
when your SSD was shit you blamed suppliers
when your service is shit you blame mental health
wake the fuck up be a man
HOW ABOUT IPv6 Sir ? its still down for over 1 month now ?
TIME TO LEAVE THE BOAT !!!
die Kacke ist am Dampfen !
and If you can't handle your business, close it, health is more important then money
Let me clarify one Thing. This is not mocking.
Me and Calin we are friends. Its been kind of joke we did.
We wanted to meet up in Amsterdam last month but Calin was still busy with exam for Driver license. He didnt know when the exam scheduled but then was in the same week. So we post-poned. Hes doing well.
Can you produce some more deranged weed smoking videos, but with Calin this time? Those make me proud to be a Hostslick customer.
well noted on your friendship with Calin

WTF??
Now that is something unexpected.
Is this a new club??
@HostSlick - I can understand the stress level, if you think you cannot sustain some deals, just give back the remaining value on contracts to customers, it will save you a lot of headache and image wise it is not a shame, sincerely it is not. ( if you are light on cash, do it 10 by 10 at a time )
There are bigger brands that did the same, sometimes things break, it is what it is.
Hope you figure this out. Remember, there is no business that is worth more than you sanity/health.
PS: if you need anything ( other then 1 Ton of Euros
in 500 Euro bills
), you know how to find me.
Hope it will work out for you and the angry mob Customers.
Cheers!!!
Try now ipv6 Is now fixed. I have pushed config change. It Randomly Stopped working via one of our other upstreams, as i was single-home IPV6. Now i anonunced to GTT until we know issue on other upstream. I talk to them later. After fixed other upstream, it will be multi-homed to all upstream. I could see however our router exported and announced just fine to them, so we need to see the outcome.
Thanks for your kind words, i take note on it.
(need 100-200G additional transit soon, 1 ton of servers, 1 ton money. Just things we all need more of. thx)
Aaa, ok, so the usual stuff, I thought you need something heavy/exotic; those are pretty standard/easy to do
Regardless of my popcorn reply, need something, ping me, I even accept ping via IPV6 and the later more exotic IPV9
PS: "If there is no struggle, there is no progress"
Cheers!!!
true, but dont offer these in the 1st place. I am a not abuser, and pretty happy, but cancelling it? No, iam not on the 4-5 or 10 dollar deals
You are totally right. If a provider can not sustain a deal, they should not make that offer. However, this is a fun place, we are humans, so we tend to get carried away. Besides, nobody can possibly know the future, so we can't predict what economy will be like in a couple of years, especially when pandemics and political wars are in motion.
Nobody is accusing you as being an abuser. The abusers in general just make the matters worse; this combined with loaded support lines sketch a scenario of a huge stress. Meanwhile chargebacks due to customer panic combined with bad reviews become the cherry on top within a recipe for disaster.
Solution in my view seems simple: cancel the plans which cause problems and discomfort at the end of their billing period, offering some apologies and some time in advance for people to take their data and migrate if they wish. Changing price could also be an option, but nobody likes that, therefore this idea needs to be approached with caution.
I'm here now but seems it does not help IO in any way
