pCloud 20GB Free Lifetime Cloudstorage

pCloud is currently offering 20GB for free for lifetime during their 12th birthday :) Get it while you can
https://landing.pcloud.com/Birthday2025

I've been using pCloud (Cloud storage provider out of Switzerland) for a couple of years now and replaced GDrive/MSDrive with it. Been very happy so far, albeit the big players obviously still are a bit more reliable and advanced.

I wouldn't assume anyone here would upload crucial data unencrypted anyway. Cryptomator e.g. works great with pCloud.

Using it for a couple of years and been happy. Recently upgraded from 500GB lifetime to 2,5TB.

  • No public folder with this offer. They also like doubled their lifetime prices.

  • @Ympker said: I wouldn't assume anyone here would upload crucial data unencrypted anyway

I would. Generally, people do not care much about privacy, at least in my experience.

  • I see US and EU for data options, is EU better than US for data privacy and stuff? Or does it not matter here?

  • Currently there is also a Special Deal with 45% off.

    Like using rclone

  • The price is very good, but I don't know if the service is long-term? > @default said:

Nobody knows what future brings, especially in times of economic turmoil worldwide due to capitalistic greed. We can't predict what happens next year, much less in 10 years or in a lifetime.

I simply posted that deal to share it for people interested who have lots of spare money to invest and possibly lose. But if you want my advice: don't order any lifetime services (except maybe licenses). Those days of hope are long gone. Monthly payments are the safest nowadays.

Real people live on edges. It's do or die. Since future is uncertain, what's the value of saving money if you can't enjoy it tomorrow.....

Yep, I've been doing just that for years. I got super cheap lifetime deals from Koofr and pCloud many years ago. Both have been great thus far, no complaints at all. I mount them using rclone for redundancy in case one of them shuts down at some point.

I'm on EU. Datacenter is supposedly in Luxemburg (maybe at Fran's). Since I'm from Germany it made sense to pick EU.

    Rclone is unofficially supported: https://rclone.org/pcloud/

    Crypotmator for Android supports pcloud

@default make sure to compare "specials". They basically always have one running. Never buy without discount with them!

  • Thanks. But 20GB too small :'(

What do you mean?! 20GB is great for backup of small important and encrypted files. This can be used to backup the files of a password manager as an example, or to share some document with someone.

Yes, you can't backup your many gigabytes of pictures or your business data, but you're also fully aware you need to pay for that kind of space.
