Currently using Contabo and I was looking to move from them but comparing Geekbench results they surpass even Netcup root server results for similar price, the only issue is their shitty network, limited to 800mbps + not stable.

Wait what? Contabo VMs surpassing NC root servers?....... I need what you are smoking man, just search on lowendtalk about contabo and the nightmares of cpu steal and what not, sure looking at value for money many justifies them but for any serious business I will go with lsw, ovh, hetzner and NC anyday. Been with lsw since last BF for my DB server and stability is too notch rocking 100% server uptime and no network downtime till now. Used netcup earlier and still have their pico vps running my uptime kuma instance no issues so far. Used hetzner for like 4 months the experience was amazing but since I already had servers in Germany so decided to cancel my subscription with them. Ovh is goated and with their new pricing for vps I couldn't have asked for more. Also in your budget maybe getting kimsufi dedicated server with ovh might give you better value for money in the end it all depends what you gonna do with your server and what you are looking for.

Oh so sorry, misread the "/year" on your budget, that is a tough one to match, especially if you are looking for the UK. Hetzner have near but still over your budget: https://www.hetzner.com/cloud/

    I just found this https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/12375355 from https://www.vpsbenchmarks.com/yabs/contabo-8c-23gb-20250610-tg7671
and I was surprised as well because I know the stories and I am a customer of them myself and I want to move because of the shitty network just how is this even possible as a test
My usage is self hosted projects for myself and clients and now I want to do also some ffmpeg encoding thats why I was checking cpu benchmarks.

Technically possible on a fresh node, if you still have a contabo vps can't you run a yabs and see for yourself? It's as easy as typing wget -qO- yabs.sh | bash

Encoding will heavily rely on cpu so getting a vds or dedicated will be better suited for you. I mean no provider wants a noisy customer hammering their cpu power for too long unless specified in their offerings.

I have one from the older generation: https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/13708602

these are the results and this is the one that got replaced by the VPS-2 plan which has specs as mine but cheaper, the VPS-3 has two more cores so the difference looks huge unless as you say its a fresh node without customers in it.
