Blesta & Paymenter are my favourites.
I have used or worked with just about all of them out there. WHMCS too me is by far the easiest and streamlined.
Since using blesta I think whmcs is for dinosaurs
Poll looks good
In my opinion WHMCS is good but if it had a easier management panel it would be best.
I am very curious about the panels of those who choose Custom and Other.
I used Blesta, ClientExec & Whmcs. If you really love your business go with whmcs.
ClientExec is also a great tool, support is real real quick.
WHMCS -> Blesta -> Others for me. But WHMCS pricing is a bit tough to swallow depending on your margins
Hello again,
I wanted to bump the discussion and open for new ideas, is there any Free&Open Source Hosting Management script? I heard Fossbilling and Paymenter but whats pros and cons?
Thanks.
@HushedMan i think you are using Fossbilling & Paymenter?
FOSSBilling
Lite and smart.
Yes, I’m currently using FOSSBilling – it’s free and open source.
Pros:
Cons:
Overall, it works fine if you’re okay with a lighter solution.
For free and open-source options, based on your hosting control panel: I use Hestia Control Panel, so my choice is FOSSBilling, since Paymenter does not yet support Hestia. Usually, free options support fewer control panels.
We use Billmanager from ISP systems because it is a complete software that can take care of all aspects of our business: domains, shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, SSL certificates, software sales, etc. It also has great features for calculating taxes worldwide (EU, USA, Russia), integration with global and local payment systems, and integration with accounting software. It's a commercial product based on a subscription model.

Not other billing software can't just compete with whmcs for now. Some lack payment gateway integrations, some lack features, some lack domain registrars, some doesn't have common control panels itself.
Blesta & ClientExec is doing great, but still far behind whmcs.
Paymenter own too many bugs.
Whats thread about, hosting management or payment? Thats 2 pairs of shoes.
Hosting & Server Management tbh, Most of the scripts has Stripe&Paypal thats all i need
What do you think Blesta lacks, specifically (today in Sep 2025)?
It is missing to eliminate that of the partial payments, the option of servers when purchasing services not having to create several groups / products only one product and have the option to choose multi-location like whmcs, eliminate the option of the additional registration recovery email, the possibility of selecting the virtualizor / virtfusion module when activating an order more flexibility, the taxes created from payment fee are shown in the order process and not after the client has filled in their data, compatibility of modules such as tenantos dedicated server, plesk that is fully integrated so that the client can manage their services, be able to modify the tpl like whmcs, have the option of customer registration by default not created as a group of services, have the shopping cart / basket that groups all the services when paying or see it in the purchase process I think that is the most important thing at the moment
That is a lot of things. I think you should report it in GitHub and directly through their community. Maybe they make some fixes for that
Thanks for the feedback. Disabling of partial payments is planned. Not sure I understand what you mean by purchasing services not having to create groups/products. Location is supported for most module with the config option override, would need to know what module you have in mind to confirm it works there. We will add an option for hiding the recovery email, task created. Not sure what you mean by selecting the module (Virtualizor/VirtFusion), modules are associated with a Package and it's possible to create Packages that use both Virtualizor and VirtFusion so you can offer both. Tenantos has a feature request for Blesta in their request site, but we haven't heard from them, we would consider creating a module or assisting them on the creation of one. Plesk is integrated, if you're looking for a specific management feature, those details would be helpful. It is possible to modify template files, Blesta's template files are .pdt not .tpl, can create a new template or child template with changed files only. Client Registration form is an option, but it must be added, it takes a minute, many people don't want to allow anyone to register without buying, though we are considering having this enabled out of the box. Not sure what you mean regarding the shopping cart, it will show all the items you're buying, an example might help me understand.
I appreciate the feedback, I was expecting some major issue but most of this is minor or easily solved (like a new module). We've worked really hard and continue to work hard to eliminate any feature disparity and feedback is most excellent. Thanks!
I think some images can help you with what can be done.
WHMCS:
registration:
select server:
The ability to activate the service and select which VirtFusion/Virtualizor module the client selects.
In Blesta, multiple products must be created for each location, and this can be simplified
This option would be fantastic
On the shopping cart/basket, group all the services you are purchasing so that they are visible.
Delete partial payments/disable the recovery email option when placing an order
Fixing cron issues with Plesk would also be great.
Blesta is a great software. We are very grateful for the support. It's great to have them. It just needs a few details and it will be as solid as whmcs/hostbill
I like Blesta. However, I wish the domain name search (keyword search for multiple TLDs) and domain management features were more user friendly, and the interface could be slightly enhanced (making the logo and menu stay in the same row on small screens). Also, the option to register or transfer a domain while ordering other services (like in whmcs) and a universal Cart are much needed.
When ordering my first VPS, I have thought that some providers were copycats, just because they used WHMCS
I like custom panels, but I know that writing everything from scratch is hard
Creating a panel from scratch may be hard for starters, security, optimisation, integrations. Thats why everyone starts with WHMCS, Blesta and others.
Writing your own panel from scratch is indeed very difficult. Especially when you're already skill issued by WHMCS.
Today, the sector is undergoing significant improvements
Previously, most relied on a good theme or website integration to offer clearer service management
They are currently implementing integrations with Laravel and WHMCS, and the results are magnificent. We are testing some integrations, and it's going well
No, you are using software from ISPsystem because it's Russian software that just like you are controlled by the Russian authorities.

No one is interested in your idiotic assumptions. Any hosting provider is required to provide information to law enforcement agencies. If cPanel owns WHCMS, it's an American law enforcement agencies. If Directadmin is involved, it will be the Canadian authorities who will receive the information. We don't live in a your dumb fantasy world, and any company must follow the rules. Personally, we switched to WHMCS a few days ago. This change was truly much better; it offers us everything we were looking for
We hope Blesta will make significant changes someday. It's truly a software with a lot of potential, but it's incredibly limited in its options, as we mentioned earlier
We own two licenses, but we're forced to switch to WHMCS
