Abusive abuse report - What to do
Hi folks, I manage modest multiple domains since quite a long time. All in legitimacy, i might have some stealth on the registered name as i do not trust some registars but the websites are mostly static and never abusive.
Recently someone, i suspect one person, keep reporting one of my domain for pishing or other false reason, each time like a bot, not even writting proper sentences with base64 stuff in his text.
I responded to the first abuse (with OVH as a registar) but this keep happenning.
What would be your advise on what to do and how to deal with it.
Also, by curiosity, is there registar that would not bother me that much in the future ?
Not blaming OVH on this one, i know it's a lega lresponsibility, but it's good to know some more reliable alternative.
I repeat that no activity I do is illegal.

Just respond to the abuse reports. If they want you to move out, they’ll tell you.
More reliable? Openprovider.... But you still gotta respond to abuse reports.
If OVH is the domain registrar, it might be harder to deal with than if OVH was simply the host of the website/parking page. Personally I've found Nicenic (Chinese/HK) registrar to be reputable and communicate well about situations like this. If you explain it clearly and the reports are bogus, they will happily ignore invalid reports, forward them to you, and you can simply send them to the bin.

I ain't worry about the report much as I did law study and it would just be a loss to them, not me, but yeah, annoyed.

I’ve been running my domains for a long time and they’re all simple, static websites — nothing abusive or illegal. Lately, someone keeps sending fake phishing complaints about one of my domains. The reports look like spam, even with base64 text, and clearly don’t make sense.
I replied to the first one, but the same person just keeps sending new ones. I understand OVH has to pass the reports on, that’s fine, but it’s becoming a bit frustrating to deal with nonsense tickets again and again.
Is there anything else I can do on my side to stop this? Or should I just keep giving the same short reply whenever it happens?
Also, do you know if there are registrars out there that handle these kinds of fake complaints a bit more reasonably? I’m not blaming OVH, I get it’s a legal requirement, but I’d like to know my options for the future.
I’ve had the exact same shit happen to me with OVH. Some jackass reported my domain as “malware”. I’ve responded to OVH but they’ve yet to reply
Find them and break their knee caps. They probably won't do it again. It's important to show people how far you're willing to escalate things up front, saves a lot of time.

It depends on if OVH cares enough to suspend you or not due to abuse report. There are some providers who don't care and will forward it just to say they did their part and you can just ignore it.
I would recommend checking Incognet @MannDude if you want privacy and not get suspended for some false abuse report.

Incognet isn't the registrar. They don't have the power to say who gets suspended and who doesn't.

The funiest stuff is that OVH relayed the name of the person who reported. So i know who is that person. Contrary to him i respect him and will not expose him, but my guess is that it's someone who report massively.
What is it about Sao Tome that makes them more resilient?

Well, nothing in particular. It's just that we're an accredited .ST registrar so we'll get the abuse reports first in most cases, and we don't use automation or are quick to place a domain on serverHold for nonsensical things. In the case for .ST, we did have an issue with one domain that we still have active, we get many reports about it, and reporters have taken to report directly to the Registry as well. But the ST Registry reached out to us and we have a common understanding that the speech, while awful, is not illegal or anything. They've taken no action nor have we.
We're also accredited for TLDs like .vg, .fo, .gd, gl, .bh, .pw and others via CentralNic, so in that case we'd likely get the report(s) first.

With all that said, we're not "bullet proof" nor do we advertise as "DMCA ignored". If you're hosting IPTV streams (for example), we're not for you. If you're hosting phishing sites, malware distro, etc... We're not for you. Our order process even has a keyword checker to prevent people from trying to register things with common phishing related keywords. If you need to register waterwellsfargocounty.com because you own a company installing Water Wells in Fargo County, Nebraska then a simple ticket and explanation will allow that to be processed, as it'd be automatically blocked due to containing "wellsfargo" in the order.
