  • I can't comment on the performance yet myself (I'm still trying to prove I'm a valid customer and not fraud) but with $7/year deals like this you can't expect them to break any records. Plus stated uses from the original post:

    Dev/test environments, staging, CI tools
Lightweight web apps, landing pages, APIs, bots
    Learning, sandboxing, and homelab tinkering

All of those seem like very valid use cases even with a really slow CPU. As long as it isn't oversold as much as Massivegrid did and it doesn't have a ton of CPU steal it should be useable.

    Excellent offer🥇
For $7/year the only complaint one can have is the reliability and uptime which are yet to be tested, only time will tell ⌛
    I got one 👍

If it makes you feel better, my LAX VPS has been unreachable since I executed an OS install after getting it. So their hypervisor server or network may be the problem... (assuming we're both in LAX). Ticket PFZ-161689 - hasn't really been acknowledged by support for 3 hrs

People complaining about issues not having been resolved in 3, 5, even 12 hours when they are paying $7/year is crazy to me. Usually with super cheap deals like this support might take 48 hours, we are the lowest priority for good reason. As long as the issues DO actually get fixed at some point you just need to have a little patience. No one should expect Wagyu steak at McDonald's.

  • zedzed Member

What's the minimum cost you feel would be appropriate to get your vps in the location you selected and to have connectivity?

Equating those basics with "Wagyu steak at McDonald's" is also kind of crazy.

Anyway I'm sure @DediRock makes good on it, he seems pretty responsive in general.
