    Latency certainly makes a great impact to speeds achievable. You would otherwise need a series of fortunate events to achieve 8Gbit/s from the opposite side of the world, including, but not limited to, appropriate Linux kernel tuning and a very optimal path both from and to the server.

    If very high throughput is your goal then you would be better to purchase a service more local to your location.
