  • anybody know how often they restock?

  • Our new VPS range has been so popular, it’s flown off the shelves. But don’t worry, fresh stock is coming soon!

  • Vint Hill (VA) location is in stock on the U.S. site right now.

    "Here is the complete list of CPUs at the moment ==> Xeon 6242Rx2, Xeon 6242x2, E5-2680v4x2, E5-2687Wv4, E5-2640v4x2, E5-2689v4x2."

  • I guess ovh did again garbage diving and they found v4 cpus in the same bin that had those 120GB drivers that they used with KS-B/C.

  • IPv6 is unreachable for VA VPS.
    Luckily I just paid for 1 month.
    Their support is even worse than HostHatch so probably this is never going to be resolved.

  • CPU is actually quite good.

    You don't. This was said by the product manager in OVHCloud discord.

    No, it is not. 99% of members here has automated monitoring of OVH stock. Each 30 seconds API request shoots out to check for stock. If stock is available - order is placed. Automatically. So, 'restock' is just a matter of seconds.

    It lasts for a while. When I saw the theads related to restock, there were always stocks.

    I'm not sure if there is an endpoint to monitor the availability of VPS?

    I do have the feeling some other vps users here are a bit more lucky in terms of cpu performance... or maybe that is the Debian 13 bonus you are enjoying.

  • Naaah, not worth i got 600 singlecore in gb6 on Waw 🤣

    I dont think so. These VPS are not that hot compared to $10 dedicated servers. When LE vpses (amd based) were introduced there also were problems with stock.

    OVH cant plan ahead.

    Also performance will degrade over time.
    Mixing older and newer cpus under same offer is just meh.

  • This is pretty early but someone on OVH's discord helped me find the endpoint to check availability of these VPS. Here's some quick python for the smaller one:

    import requests

    response = requests.get("https://eu.api.ovh.com/v1/vps/order/rule/datacenter?ovhSubsidiary=FR&planCode=vps-2025-model1")

    for dc in response.json()['datacenters']:
        print(dc)

    I should find the time to write an actual program to check these availabilities...

    Just open ovh api docs. Find required endpoint in v1. Ask claude to write script and set it on cron with email notification. That’s it. No need for python, just ovh php sdk and php mailer libs.

    Here's my quick and dirty take without AI, anyway.
    I can't be bothered to add the email monitoring tonight; I've already got the VPS I wanted so I'm not under too much pressure :)

    I'm using the "status" field, there's also "linuxStatus" and "windowsStatus" so maybe they are relevant (?!).

    import requests
    import os
    import time

    sleep_time = 10

    planCodes = ['vps-2025-model1','vps-2025-model2', 'vps-2025-model3', 'vps-2025-model4', 'vps-2025-model5', 'vps-2025-model6']
    whichColor = { 'available'     : '\033[0;32;48m', # green
                   'out-of-stock'  : '\033[0;31;48m'  # red
                 }
    endColor = '\033[0;37;0m'

    while True:
        os.system('cls' if os.name == 'nt' else 'clear')
        for planCode in planCodes:
            print(planCode + ": ", end = "")
            response = requests.get("https://eu.api.ovh.com/v1/vps/order/rule/datacenter?ovhSubsidiary=FR&planCode="+planCode)
            myDc = response.json()['datacenters']
            for dc in myDc:
                print(whichColor[dc['status']] + dc['datacenter'] + endColor, end = " ")
            print("")
        time.sleep(sleep_time)

    I do have the feeling some other vps users here are a bit more lucky in terms of cpu performance... or maybe that is the Debian 13 bonus you are enjoying.

    You also have problems with Amsterdam. I have a dedicated one and I arrive in Amsterdam with 124 ms.

    Maybe a problem with Eranium. I have 7ms to both Scaleway and Leaseweb in Amsterdam from GRA.

    Thanks for the opportunity to test that the quick and dirty Python code I wrote yesterday indeed works :)

  • Yepp, the ovh new vps line (I thought that is what this thread is about)

    Can your python code help OVH in doing restocks (esp. for the smaller ones, vps-1 and vps-2)? ;)
