+1 for Gullo @Cam have been using them for years for just this type of thing. v6Node @v3ng has also proven very reliable for more demanding applications.
If you send us a PM, we can set you up with NAT outbound from Albania - wikipedia edits allowed on IPs. Actually - our London and Albania IPs both have Wikipedia Editing allowed... there are scripts to check this on Github.
-1 for Gullo, the service is not really stable and if a DC is deprecated they wouldn't actively inform you (basically you will be paying for a non-working service), you also cannot choose where to migrate the NAT VPS to if they decided to close down one of them. Of course this is not to mention some other security issues in the past.
I briefly mentioned about it here: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/4483449/#Comment_4483449 (and certainly I mentioned about it few months or years back)
Thank you for the tags guys!!!
I wish you would have tagged me in your past posts so I could have a chance to comment, I didn’t realize you had issues with us. I would love for you to go into detail on this as this is the first I have had any complaints regarding any of these issues.
Anytime we remove a DC from our portfolio, we ofcourse need to get clients off of the servers. When this does happen it is usually due to lack of customer interest or a poorly performing server, which I think we could all agree would be a practical reason to step away. During these kinds of events we always send out multiple emails informing customers of the change and allow them to open a ticket to initiate the re-creation process, in their ticket customers specify which location they would like to get moved to. Never have we forced any client on a server that they did not want. So I’m not sure where this incident you are mentioning took place.
You mention there are other security issues, please if there is a security issues bring it to my attention immediately because I am not aware of any such issue, you would
Be doing a disservice to the community you manage by not reporting such issue.
As always I welcome any feedback no matter good or bad, as this is my opportunity to make Gullo’s Hosting better, so thank you very much for expressing your thoughts.
There's also @Neoon 's free MicroLXC
Edit: nvm, I don't think you can use it for that
Personal VPN is fine.
Using NAT VPS for VPN purpose is not recommended. Those IPs are shared by thousands of users and are deemed
dirtyby most websites. You would probably need to complete several Recaptcha verifications every time you Google or Youtube, etc.@abd also
Indeed, grab some cheap yearlies, with IPv4, I would suggest you buy limited offers instead of regular offers, since they attract less abusers.
Those are not really other security issues, but the one that I spend additional efforts (making multiple international phone calls from SG to US to bring to your attention, along with multiple high priority emails) report to you earlier on (if you still remember, perfectly fine if you don't), but yet there wasn't any announcement or email that there's potential data leaking to all clients (certainly possible if anyone exploited the vulnerability, heck I could have done that if I am evil).
I honestly never received any emails regarding cancellation of a location / host node (I have been your customer since 2018), since those are very low powered I never bother to run any monitoring so I usually only noticed it few months later. And of course a while ago I try to login to client area and noticed 1 or 2 VPS is gone again due to "Virtual server not found", similar symptom as the past ones.
I did reached out to you in ticket to ask for migration of a "not found" VPS but you answered with it is only possible if I pay the full price. (Not to expect much but I figured that the least you can do after I report a serious security issue is to allow me to transfer my non-working VPS to location of my choice) I figured that it is not worth my time and effort for such low cost VPS, thus I decided to let go.

If you only need a NAT node episodically (doesn't need to be on all the time 24/7), huggingface spaces is a very generous free option (cgroups limited to 16G/2C):

I'm still pulling at straws here. Maybe you're referring to the Blesta Email Plugin issue we had back in 2022? (https://x.com/GulloStatus/status/1485352789580656642)
However, you said we never announced anything, which was clearly posted on our public Twitter and on the billing portal.
As for your servers, it sounds like you're more upset that you weren't credited for unused time? I can understand the frustration there, but I can assure you that every time we have any server issues that require the re-creation/migration of anyone's servers, we always send multiple emails to our customers to give them prior notification. Maybe by chance these emails got sent to a spam folder or were undeliverable for some reason?
I don't recall your user account in our billing portal, so um unable to pinpoint/reference any specific incident, but I am always willing to look into anything for any of our customers. I apologise that you are not happy with our service, and I thank you and am very appreciative that you are willing to explain to me your frustrations. I will certainly make sure in the future to take extra precautions when nodes are being discontinued.
I guess that's on me, though an email would have solved it much better in my opinion. You can take a quick poll to ask how many LET members that has service with you actually are aware of the incident.
I don't really have a Twitter/X account and announcement is rather hidden (it is only accessible through footer, not even in the menu bar of client area), and I am pretty surprised to see those announcements that I never received email regarding them.
I can receive all billing emails perfectly fine since 2018, so I don't really think it is a mailing issue. (I can see they are all send from MXRoute, which I don't think is bad in mail deliveries)
Anyway I have just logged in to client area, and 3 of my VPS were offline for unknown reasons (but they are all happily bootable, just figured it would be best if it is auto boot after maintenance), whereas another one is "Virtual server not found".
Looking into my records you should know my account as I messaged you asking for assistant before, but I understand you are only getting some small amount of passive income on this project, so I don't really want to spend more of your time looking into it. It is not about crediting unused time but honoring existing promo pricing (or at least give same level of discount) for migrating.
For example, yes the VPS was bought when the pricing was $3.5/yr, so $1/yr is about 72% off. Given that the pricing is now $5/yr due to operation or what not, I don't mind it being $1.43/yr but the only option you gave me is $5/yr, so I am stuck at $5/yr and I lost a $1/yr offer due to your migration/maintenance. (Heck the time I spend typing this comment definitely costs me more than $1 opportunity costs, so ya)
Either way I am sure someone else might find your NAT VPS useful, but to me it is more headache than it is worth nowadays, the only thing that has been holding me is because it is "just a dollar" thanks to your past deals. But even then I figured I should let go of this tiny few dollars of spending a year for nothing but headache.
I do think your current original pricing seems to be a little bit too high (Anything 512MB or above is just not worth it, at $20/yr I can get much better specs elsewhere), but then I also figured maybe maintaining / selling NAT VPS might not be worth the effort due to the maintenance required while having low profit margin.
I've had a NAT server with Gullo since 2017, it's $2/yr and I've kept it until today. It's mostly idling and the price is perfect for an idler. Overall there are no issues with the service, I even ticketed in a couple of times for location changes and there were no issues.
I believe there were a couple of times the server was forcefully migrated/recreated, once in 2020 and once in 2024. I think the 2020 one I didn't receive any email notifications either, but the 2024 I might have (I can't find the email but I remember knowing about it, but it could've been from LET). Anyways, both times, sent ticket and server was recreated and no issues keeping it at the same rate. But if I want to choose another location with higher costs, I've been told the renewal price would increase. I think this could be what @FAT32 was referring to
We were an active client in 2022 and we recall seeing althe announcement cited in the tweet.
Nevertheless, we have cancelled all Gullo services in 2024 because the price per RAM is no longer beneficial.
Yes I could have created a ticket but I purchased more than 20 services since 2018 (peak at one point should be 10+), so thats quite a bit of manual work. I already have 1 for each region that they used to provide and the remaining are all the "premium" regions (even NY is $5/yr)
Yes I agree with @yoursunny on the price per RAM ratio. If I purchase a 512GB dedi from Heymann I can sell up to 4000 such containers and bring me profit of about $1.5k monthly.
Do it!
Keep in mind thats before all the overselling and stuff, but yes the PayPal fee might be higher than that as well. Anyway if I were to do it I wont do it at this price so the profit will be much lower.
$2/yr its gone
You're definitely right, an email would have been better, and that is some feedback that I will implement from here on out, so thank you for that. You are correct, we actually have our nodes configured not to automatically boot VMs. I will be the first to admit this is not best practices, and I would love to be able to accommodate auto boot, but most of our nodes are not powerful enough to boot all VM's all at the same time. These are just some of the negatives that come with running extremely budget-friendly VPS servers. Our NAT VPS's are not supposed to be the fastest on the market; they are supposed to be a tool for people to use for silly projects to learn new things. They're not designed to have perfect uptime, mine crypto, or host game servers, even though people have tried to in the past.
I apologize for not remembering your account name. We have over 13,000 customer accounts in our billing portal it is not as easy to locate your account as it may seem. Gullo's Hosting does not make much money at all; it pays its own bills, and that's about it. I run this business as I enjoy it, and I like to give back to the community that I have been a part of for almost 11 years.
Again, I apologize that your experience has not been perfect. I just ask you to reach out to your provider before spreading negative feedback, because we have all just seen firsthand how false information can get passed around quickly. No hard feelings whatsoever. Have a wonderful day/night.
Honestly I dont think thats what happened, I do reached out to you via official methods like tickets regarding the service virtual server not found etc, either way it is a moot point now.
Please share with me your account info so I can look into it. Thanks.
I will check that. Yes I may use only few hours in a month.
I have used Gullo's Tiniest Nat 128mb 1vc 2gb for years now, some scraping, scripting, testing and off course VPN, but lately I assign it to be reverse proxy for my home and office labs using FRP also by running caddy to get SSL along with tailscale as exit node (VPN), it is working great so far
