Looking for a good Crisp.chat alternative
Hello,
I'm using https://crisp.chat to handle web customer support, free version is really limited so I subscribed to the "Mini" plan (45$/month), just to get:
- Custom colors
- File upload
- More than 30 days history
What are you using as web chat and how much does it cost you ?

Live chat? Do you consider selfhost? If yes, check out chatwoot
Yeah live chat and self hosting is definitely an option. Will have a look, thx!
Mentally strong people publish their telephone number.
Customers can call and text us.
Records are kept in Google Voice forever.
Files are sent via US mail just like how the banks do it.

It's free, but there are some paid upgrades, such as branding removal.
Just finished to configure chatwoot, it's really nice. That's a bit sad that we can't force dark mode yet (only light or auto are available).
If you want a simpler solution with AI, try Tidio.
If you want a more feature-rich (and more expensive) solution, Zendesk is excellent and has reputable representatives.
I would like to know more opinions about this one if possible.
Intercom startup, 1 year free.
After one year you may get locked in with them and its not cheap at all. We did same mistake
You can cancel?
Also tidio, zendesk & hubspot is great.
Personally we were using Gist before Intercom. But now your comment concern me a little about renewals.
Chatwoot rocks
We did integration of our tools through intercom and we have had a customer base there. The more customers we were getting the bill was constantly increasing and at one point we had to ditch it. I would recommend if your company earns alot as its an awesome tool but if you are medicore, go with some other alternative.
https://osticket.com/ If you want a free self hosted one, but maybe this is a case where third party hosting is better (so customers can contact when there is a problem with your infra). I guess you could self-host with another provider though
(edit: I think it's ticketing only, not livechat if that's important)
Isn’t this easily hacked?
Hmmm good question; CVE list. Looks like there was a recent vulnerability that let agents SQL access. Not great, but I'm guessing on most small hosts, staff already has root anyway. Looking at the github, appears they patched it, also
Take a look at Awesome-Selfhosted list for self-hosted options.

I am using chatwoot as well.
