1m check. Alert after 3m down
5 second checks, alerts after 15 seconds
See
For some heavy traffic sotes, even 1 second downtime translates to $1000s in lost business. For others even 6 hours means nothing
I would always go with the realistic expectation of how long the website can remain down after receiving an alert ⚠️
And one thing to see is
What is the plan or team which is going to monitor and Act on that incident
You dont want alert fatigue at the end
@plumberg yeah, thats what I'm trying to avoid, alert fatigue. Thanks
Probably depends on what type of site. Critical is going to be 30 seconds to every minute. Everything else can probably be two minutes to 15 minutes, give or take.
For me critical is 15s checka and alert after 1 minute, everything else 1 - 5 minute checks and 5x the alert time. Works perfectly fine and no fatigue at all if you choose to ignore the notifications.
