Support only for this issue in next hours

    And again, no email/ticket response/solution

Never happened to me that fsck hanged. Maybe faulty hardware.
Consumer SSDs can break on power outage. Like when HackerNews lost a whole mirror plus backup on a single power loss.

Guess i was luck with intel kingston silicon power etc with daily power outages and no data loss

maybe due to your motherboard not implement crazy last thingy with bios related to power & your PSU power protection(s).

I have the same problem, my KVM VPN has been down for almost eight days. I haven’t received any response to my ticket. It would be nice if we could at least get a status update.

  • Calm down @HostSlick said this weekend - there is still few hours left!
[or even more if you count up to Monday 6:00 am when "week" starts!]

  • has the weekend passed yet?

  • fsck? really? you have VMs on an ext4???
why aren't you (or the host machines) running ZFS?

Even LVM, which I believe is the most common storage model for VM, doesn't need fsck.

Anyway, there are some extreme settings that might lead to severe corruption in case of power loss. I would not feel comfortable with those 7 GB/sec with local disks setup, to be honest. Better safety than extreme performance.

  • I do find it somewhat ironic that the owner(?) of HostSlick has the mugshot of a tax-evading mobster as their profile picture on LET. Perhaps not the greatest choice when you have quite a few unhappy customers that seem to not be getting help...

I remember this provider running “bulletproof” themed ads on a hacker forum years ago.

  • I created two tickets on 31st July and no one has solved the problem until today, just like Tesla's FSD self-driving car, hostslick boss said the server was under maintenance over the weekend, and there has been no response until now.

  • I gave gave up on this provider for the sake of my peace of mind.

  • @HostSlick where are you?

  • Their DA reseller node is down too.

I guess you're stranded in the slick.

  • Looks to me didnt pay his bills
DA server is down also. Whats next....

  • LBFLBF Member

He won't solve any issues. In a few weeks he will put up a post with offers again and people will just purchase it again.

  • Very strange, why would you act like this, ridiculous

I will warn them then when he posts offers again... ill keep an eye on it

No idea if it's related, but my VPS went offline 12 hours ago...
Anyone else on any other node down?

This happened exactly as it did last year. @HostSlick is a scammer and should be blocked. He removed this from the website:

    Sun 10/6/2024

    Hello User,

you are receiving this message because of a very critical status event based on a product/service you have with us.
Before reading this email its important to understand that not everyone who receives this message is affected.

This affects mainly some small part of the Black-Friday and Christmas deals sold last year.
Mainly some that are in 93.123.118.0/24 and 50.118.225.0/24. If you have a VPS in this IP Range you might contiune read.

In the morning of the 6th October 2024, Node "10GKVM15.hostslick.com" went unresponsive, however was responsive to ping.
We assigned someone to check that issue but there was no luck to recover. Later we checked the node a bit deeper and initiated a reboot.
We found that last night out of exception, two SSDs of the same mirrored span in the RAID10 have failed which have caused the behaviour.
After a check the raid array showed "failed" status. After investigation we have then seen the failed drives.

The drives recently have both been fine. All other of them too. Just this night two in same span failed.
In RAID10 that means, if two drives in same span fail, data is lost.

We where hoping that the issue was the raid controller or the slots in the front plane (Front of Node where you put the SSDs in).
However that was not the case. We had to realize that this just happened and two drives failed in the same span.

We have rebuilt some new replacement Node after and are currently getting it into operation. Within next hours we start to re-provision all VPS.
You might need to open a Ticket NOW, if you are affected. We will re-provision your plan asap.

Currently we are checking how to automatic re-provision all those on Virtualizor but we are unsure if there is a way to do this.

So, please raise a ticket with us, so we can get you back up more quick.

For everyone affected we offer 10€ and account credit and one month will be added back to your billing cycle. We are very sorry for this.

After all VPS are back into operation, we are trying to re-evaluate this, what can be done to prevent such events in the future. For now our focus is to deal with all affected customers ASAP.

Please note after all, we are a unmanaged provider and customer is always responsible for their backups. As stated in our ToS also. We know that this is a serious event and it shouldnt happen.
We are very upset with this too. As said it will be re-evaluated after.

    Thank you for understanding.

    HostSlick e.K.

Yes, I got an allrounder 5TB deal.. You too?
Seems something like 12 hours, don't know the exact time however

  • about time.

can we expect some enterprise grade nvmes now? or remain the consumer grade that will eventually crash still?

  • My frankfurt VPS went offline 24 hours ago, still not working

He said nothing about DA node which was down weeks ago.

I just checked my spreadsheet and then checked via ssh and my "7402P Summer Deal I" is also down.

I guess I'm loosing millions every second as I just noticed I've had it for 9 months and I don't think I've logged into it a second time since I installed it and ran yabs. As such I couldn't say how long it's been down...
