DMCA ignore providers are pretty expensive. From what I can tell, Ava/AlexHost is comparatively not bad in pricing.

Plan says "Unlimited bandwidth," but what does that actually mean? Is there a point after which you throttle?

"Bandwidth for VPS servers shall be billed as follows $100 for each Mbps over. Which will be calculated as follows, overage charge times ((total bandwidth allowed per month / 350), subtracted from your 95th percentile bandwidth usage). For example if your plan allows 1400GB (approximate equivalent of 4Mbps on a 95th percentile scale) of monthly bandwidth and you used 5Mbps, you would be billed for 1Mbps of bandwidth Overage. Immediate payment may be required as well as a retainer for potential future bandwidth overages."

I made an honest mistake finding your FUP. But why do you require direct contact through your website? Why are you hesitant to answer my question on a public forum? My only guess is that the throttling occurs at embarrassingly low levels of traffic.

Regardless, not a good look for a provider.

Edit: I went to Google and searched for FUP and Fair Use under your domain (Ava.hosting and My.ava.hosting). Nothing.

Again, I ask, why do you put the blame on the customer, when it appears that your FUP is not even publicly available? This is not an industry standard. This is not transparent. What’s going on?

    Hello, dear ServerBachelor

Firstly, it was the weekend, we do offer support but it is on our website, as you would expect.

Regarding Avahost.net, it does not belong to us. You can check the DNS out there. So you got it wrong from the start. That's why we provided a link for you to check it out. How could you not see that the website was different? It was obvious, you could also have checked the IP, DNS, etc. Now, regarding FUP, you may have a point.

We allow up to 99TB on VPS. If this limit is reached, it will be limited to 100Mbps, but never below <100Mbps!

Almost all companies have this type of limit to ensure that all neighbors are not harmed and to maintain a good connection without interruptions, network congestion, etc. This is written in our acceptable use policy. We can restrict it in this case.

You can use 99TB, but don't forget that the CPU, etc. cannot harm the neighborhood either. So 99TB with 1Gbps Shared, after that, 100Mbps is applied but never less than that speed.

    Kind Regards,
    Ava.hosting

We've already addressed this, and I agreed that I made an honest mistake. I don't see why you're bringing it up again and ragging about how "[I] got it wrong from the start," especially after I explained how I searched both ava.hosting and my.ava.hosting (the correct domains) for anything about your FUP, and found nothing.

I was replying to the fact that your FUP was not available to view publicly. You provided links to the promo, your plans, and bgp.tools. You did not provide a link to your FUP, which as I have already demonstrated, is not publicly available.

We allow up to 99TB on VPS. If this limit is reached, it will be limited to 100Mbps, but never below <100Mbps!

Thanks for the actual answer. Might be useful to make this more accessible to customers on your knowledge base, though. This article appears to be the closest to that, and even it doesn't provide all of the info you've disclosed here:

Yes, we have a fair usage limit like other providers, but is not like that. We kindly ask you to contact us through our website.

    Kind Regards,
    Ava.hosting

    Kind Regards,
    Ava.hosting

Thanks for the actual answer. Might be useful to make this more accessible to customers on your knowledge base, though. This article appears to be the closest to that, and even it doesn't provide all of the info you've disclosed here:

    https://ava.hosting/faq/port-speed-1-gbps-metered-unmetered-options/

    Hello.

As we said earlier, we have this in writing. From the moment it causes problems for other users on the same network, we have to analyse, act and resolve the issue. We cannot allow someone who pays €5 or any other amount of money to disturb their neighbours. So sometimes it is better to sacrifice one, so that the entire network and performance remain stable.

Here is our AUP for VPS:

We understand that there may be confusion, but the reason we asked you to open a ticket was so that everything could be analysed. It depends on many factors. For example, a customer who constantly abuses the 1Gbps port, has their CPU at 100% for more than 5 minutes and uses 50TB or more, disturbs the neighbourhood.

The article you mentioned is more for dedicated servers.
