Both in 2007.
No.
Hell no
https://forked.net/ 2010:) No its gone but great hosting company.
Hostrail, Burst.net (both deadpooled), then ramhost.us, still online but seems to be dormant.
got my first VPS from linode around 2010/11.
moved everything from linode to ovh some time around 2015 & haven’t looked back since.
I haven’t used linode in years now.
Ramnode in 2015 (super stable)
ServInt back in... 2009? 768M running Magento 1.x
I remember dabbling in BuyVM and a "free" VPS from a provider I forgot the name of.
The first VPS I actually used was from Front Range Hosting. Not the best VPS but moved to a "home server" after two months. Good times.
I remember it was ovh in SG.
Ramnode, SecureDragon, BuyVM, Alien something (I forget).
BuyVM
It was a free Micro VKS with 128MB RAM from OVH and it was also discussed here (though I found out about it elsewhere):

My school gave out AWS gift-cards to some of us students. Had a little Minecraft server running on it, the giftcard ran out after the 3rd month hahaha.
An OpenVZ 6 based VPS from 123system for $7 yearly, whose specs I forgot clearly. All I remember there were many restrictions, like no IPv6, no permission to modify kernel parameters, while the man who replied ticket even didn't bother to read my description of setting up IPv6 via tunnelbroker.net
The VPS I missed most is from Virmach's, $7.5 offering 768MB ddr4 RAM, 30GB SSD and 2TB traffic. I consider this my first VPS.
Linode a good few years ago, with 512Mb RAM.
QuickWeb LowEndBox promo in September 2011: 1 Core OpenVZ in Phoenix, 128 MB Ram, 6 GB storage.
Cancelled after one year.
It was 10 years ago with only 256MB RAM
My first server was a MiniVPS plan (a brazilian company) in the US (NYC). They were my inspiration for many years, as they beautifully modified the SolusVM 1.0 frontend.
Sevelocity, 32MB UML (user mode linux), £10/month, early noughties (very early, can't remember exactly.

Our first was PhotonVPS WARP .5.
Before ordering, we read carefully regarding OpenVZ vs Xen and the possibility of overselling.
Xen
2 cores
256MB RAM
512MB swap
4GB disk
600GB transfer
$9.95/month
Ordered 2011-08-21, canceled 2011-09-05, received full refund as we canceled within one month.
It's expensive because it's actually a managed VPS and we didn't know what that meant.
Was a 96MB ipV6 only VPS located in Ukraine around 2010 hosted by some angry German kid. I think it could have been ip-projects.de.
VirmAche OVZ-Special-384 @ $4.00/yr in 2017 from LEB
Coming to think if it, might have been this:

Me and @raindog308 will share some similarities but Hyper Expert.
I still can't believe he deadpooled.... BUT...
COME BACK?
My first VPS was the legendary Aruba Cloud 1 Euro 1/1/20 in 2018 summer. I ordered a Contabo VPS S SSD with 4/8GB/200GB for 4.99 euros. Aruba increased the price to 3 euros in 2020 and I canceled the VPS. I switched from Contabo to netcup in 2022 spring and switched from netcup Root Server to OVH Kimsufi dedi in 2022 November.
Now I only have cheaper dedis from OVH Kimsufi (LE-1, Mystery), better than a VPS in every aspects.
Dreamhost. Moved to a VPS plan with them after using their shared hosting plans in the early 2000’s. Think I was paying like $2.50 a month for ithe VPS plan after stacking a few discounts. Did the job. Used it for a long time but dropped it some years back when they redid their plans and it was going to be like $15 a month or something.
Jumped on a RackNerd plan at that point which I used for a few years. Don’t have any with them currently however.
In terms of my early shared hosting, remember using Myacen and Solid Internet (sister companies) early on. Also a few servers hosted by individuals. I think my very very first site was using Geocities and was an Asheron’s Call site, if anyone remember that game.
My first VPS was Google Cloud as i remember.
My first VPS was Virmach’s cheapest plan around 2021–2022, and I can’t really remember it either.
RapidXen (is this systeminplace.net today?), ConnectSwitch (deadpooled in 2010) and welcome2inter.net (deadpooled a bit later as well).
All of them around 2007 - 2008.
My oldest still alive hosts were XenVZ.co.uk/OpenITC and Datarealm - both also in 2008
@LEA also hosted LEB with nenolod (RapidXen) in 2008. On a 64MB memory VPS back then
