Datawagon issues

my vps, located in Chicago, had some kind of issue and refused to operate...i initiated a recovery from their backups at 6pm eastern and the backup threw tons of errors and now it says the vps is locked., Datawagon support has been stone cold silent. Is anyone aware of issues in their Chicago dc location?

so i am standing up another vps in another location and recovering from my own DR offsite backups....while i am not paying for an eterprise sla...nearly 5 hours with no repones is concerning, I am curious if something in Chicago on my particular node went really wrong. I am standing up in New York JIC.

  • well i finally got a response and i at least know what is going on..their restores can take 6 hours or more..so not going to use that feature anymore...so i have asked for them to terminate the restore and i will rebuild and restore from my DR backups....

    Thanked by 1Frameworks
  • Hi, I’m in the same boat — my VPS in Chicago has also been unresponsive since late yesterday. Tried reaching support too but haven’t heard anything back. Definitely feels like something’s up on their end. Hopefully they address it soon. Let me know if you hear anything.

Due to the way we store VM backups, retrieving the files and processing a restore can take a while (depending on a few factors).

Backups are offered free of charge. We store backups in cold storage to make this possible and cost effective for us. We are actively looking into alternative solutions that will allow for faster backup restoration without having to charge for the feature. We have a few ideas and should have an alternative soon! As always, we still recommend clients keep their own backups.

From what I can see, our team handled all support queries that came in yesterday within 3 hours of ticket creation. We have 24/7 support coverage and strive to offer quality support, even on these packages that are < $10 per month.

Can you PM me your ticket ID so I can look into it?

  • @datawagon Come on, 2 days to provision some block storage! Come on now!
