The main issue is the power. These servers are already racked and configured like this, so swapping out the RAM or drives won’t really make a huge difference

i thought it's in netherlands, but still it's decade old E5 with lowered TDP (
Lflag) so imo price is little too highAt your desired price point, the power consumption of such an E5 system alone would already account for roughly 70% of the total costs in the current European power market.
When you add the costs for the colocation rack unit, networking, and other essentials, the margin is already gone.
If you also want newer hardware, which still has some residual value to include in the sale price, it becomes unsustainable.
You might consider reaching out to @gigahost in Norway. They operate their own facility and likely have lower overhead. Power costs in Norway are generally lower as well.
sadly yes, costs for power in EU is overpriced but i don't need newer hardware. i just said its decade old with lower tdp than normal xeon' so power consumption is also lower..
