    Hi @IPXO ,

We were going to create a few /24 orders for use within our company, but within minutes of applying for an account with IPXO, we were banned from the system, which was very unexpected. We sent an email to the support team, but they rudely told us that they do not accept providers with servers in Turkey. When we asked the reason, they said it was internal and did not provide any details, why do you prevent organizations that want to be your customers with short and non-explanatory answers? And why IPXO sends marketing mails to "blocked" customer?

    Thank you,
    Regards.

Don't want to accuse them of using abuseipdb to take back ranges. But ;)

We also rent IPs from IPXO and haven't had issues with them so far - but I do know @tarisu and am extremely familiar with his situation (from an outsiders perspective, not from IPXO's side). From what I understand the problem entirely stems from him hosting on Turkish servers. If this is incorrect, we'd all love some clarification.

I do know there are issues with Turkish spammers and things like this - but for a well-known host here that hosts servers in multiple countries, operates under a UK company, etc it definitely seems strange.

When we signed up with IPXO, they approved account almost instantly (within a few hours) and we didn't order IPs for several months after seeing many complaints from others. A friend of mine wanted IPs for something else and asked to have us rent them as his account with IPXO was still pending. We did so - but then he no longer needed them so we took over using the block for our new London offerings. Surprisingly we had very little issues getting everything changed over with them.

The only complains I have with IPXO are this:
    1) They are very strange about rDNS which is common everywhere and is needed for lots of things. Makes their ranges unusable by 99% of hosts if they don't allow. However, after a ticket with lots of questions and verification, they did give us rDNS on our own servers after providing justification and all - which I think should never have been needed to begin with tbh
    2) They put our RIPE org, etc. But they ADDED THEIR OWN abuse-c contact to override ours. This is completely unjustified and causes them to get all abuse complaints instead of us. The problem with this is WE AS THE HOST need to deal with those complaints. Not some IP Broker in the middle. So how it stands, I am worried that if we get a single bad client doing something dumb, they might take the IPs away without giving US THE CHANCE the deal with the abusive client.
    3) They make you pay an extra 9$ for RPKI/IRR setup. WHICH DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. The ranges should come with that already. NO OTHER COMPANY DOES THIS - ZERO - NONE.
    4) Absolutely 0 MNT access in RIPE. This means we cannot create smaller allocations say a /28 for a client that wants SWIP. We cannot update rDNS ourself there. We cannot set location ourselves.
    5) They put their own geofeed in the whois. AND DON'T LET YOU CHANGE IT. This is EXTREMELY BAD BEHAVIOR. Why? Say we rent a client a wireguard tunnel with an IP on it.. we want that to show HIS location NOT OURS. They won't let you do that at all.

Overall -- IPXO is CHEAP AND FAST TO GET. BUT --- THEY ARE MILES AWAY FROM BEING TO THE SAME LEVEL AS ANY OTHER IP RENTAL SERVICE.

@IPXO this is meant to be constructive criticism. Not attacking at all - love the basic idea of IPXO and all -- but you've taken "abuse prevention" to the max level that crosses the line from "preventing abuse" to "making it unusable".

It is very strange that they prolong the process to prevent “abuse” of even the most basic things. I was not aware of such a situation. Are there any other providers on this forum using ipxo? I would like to see their comments as well.

  • So 9 USD for assigning the IP Block to a ASN isn't a setup fee? Strange

    Hi there,

@IPXO i guess your higher team is not fast enough, no one contacted us for 10 hours??

We have been working with IPXO for almost two years and have only had two issues with a price increase from the owner assigned to us. Afterwards, the treatment has been very good ;)

IMO what @avsisp described, if true (which I presume it is) is a major warning sign!.

And the fact that @tarisu still needs to wait for a clear and acceptable statement from @IPXO doesn't make them look exactly good as well.
