human rights documents hosting
We are searching for a way to host PDF documents, PNG/JPG scans, sound recordings and video recordings. Evidence of abuse and wrongdoing by authorities in European countries which in the interest of justice needs to be shared with the wider public.
Typical platforms will immediately receive take down notices - out of national interests. So hosting in a European country is probably to be avoided.
We're on a shoestring budget … as human rights defenders and whistleblowers usually are.
Human rights defenders and whistleblower friendly hosts such as privx do not have ipv4 on their lower 0.99/month tiers - 12/year is a budget we can manage. Others as orangewebsite only start at +4/month, 45/year is a budget we can not manage for hosting files.
While 5 GB of space would be fantastic, 1 GB space would go a long way already. Traffic is impossible to predict. This being the sharing of compromising files with the world we would not expect heavy CPU use.
Where could we turn to without being compromised (cryptocurrency or other help in staying as anonymous as feasible these days) and without being bumped after a few weeks due to take down legal claims?

Frantech/Crane and Incognet both great options!
Probably @MannDude
Thanks for the recommendations.
@lllet , this is our bread and butter. More stock is available, I'll update the site soon as well. If USA is what you're after, we have stock now.
We don't require PII, process crypto in house and will allow orders from Tor or VPN IPs.
Hello, im down to host this for free, shoot me a dm
Content for OP: @aluy is a German citizen hosting in NL.
poneytelecom.eu
AS number AS12876
AS name (ISP) SCALEWAY S.A.S.
Maybe @tothost in Vietnam but their server are limited to 100mbit/s, unlimited however.
Thank you all for these suggestions so far !
@aluy thank you so much for your generous offer ! You being German in Germany hosting in Europe, we would suspect you might be an easy target for take down requests. We're sending an email to start a conversation. Why not in Uruguay (.uy tld)?
@MannDude Incognet in the US would sound great. Alas, at $40/year at this time we can not.
Frantech FAQ indicates they do not allow VPN's, proxies, and other privacy helping tools.
Exotic in Vietnam, country with few direct international legal obligations to Europe. @tothost we see you.
Shoot me a PM, will make that $17.76/yr
I LOVE INCOGNET!!!!
Do you need website hosting or a full VPS?
We don’t listen to false abuse complaints, and are based in the US. If it’s hosted in one of our US locations and does not violate US law, I don’t see why we’d take it down.
But we don’t really offer VPS for that cheap unfortunately.
Uruguay tld just bc it sounds cool together ^^
Its not illegal for me to host it, is it? Cant pressure me to take it down if its not blatant illegal. But I fully understand it might be a bit sketch for me even
Very risky business

I hope you can cover your tracks
You should switch to real countries like china russia iran etc
Europe is too much heat brother
Yes, those three are the go-to for human rights and free speech for sure.

We don't ask for KYC, just use Crypto and you will be fine.
Anything just contact us through ticket, livechat, telegram

I agree
+1 @MannDude
I forgot to add /s you took it serious
10 cents the op is from outside eu
Yeah the /s should really be implicit in that case, but these days there are people who would actually say what you said, while being dead serious.
Sorry.
But we have people here who would seriously say things like that.
+2 @MannDude
Regarding your search for secure, low-cost hosting of sensitive evidence files, if your total file size remains under 1GB, Cloudflare R2 presents a highly compelling solution. It offers a generous free tier of 10GB storage, 1 million Class A operations (writes), and 10 million Class B operations (reads) per month, typically sufficient for storing static files (like your PDFs, images, audio/video) with moderate access patterns. R2 integrates seamlessly with Cloudflare's robust global CDN. On the free plan, the CDN can cache files up to 512MB; given your ~1GB total storage need, individual files should be well below this limit, allowing efficient CDN acceleration. As R2 is designed for object storage, configuring appropriate caching headers will keep the number of operations triggered low, and the free tier is generally sufficient to cover them. The core hosting (R2 storage + CDN traffic) is effectively $0 within the free tier. The only additional requirement is that you need a domain name.
Cloudflare operates a highly reliable, globally distributed network, ensuring good access speeds. For anonymity, a Cloudflare account requires an email, and you can choose domain registrars supporting anonymous payment methods. For an added layer of security, it is advisable to encrypt your files before uploading them to R2. If you need a simple page to list or link to the files, you can use the free Cloudflare Pages service for static site hosting. Cloudflare, as a large provider, generally has more standardized compliance processes compared to smaller hosts. In summary, for scenarios with tight budget constraints, needing global access, and accepting non-European hosting, the Cloudflare R2 + Pages combo fits your requirements for storage and static file hosting very well within its free tier.
Since the OP never showed much interest in this thread that they started, I'm closing this thread (also to dissuade future necroposters)
