Terabit: We're changing, and here's what you need to know!

It’s been a while since we first joined LowEndTalk. I still remember our first post — it didn’t do so well. It just didn’t fit the platform. So, we took a step back. We went quiet for a while, made some serious internal changes, and came back stronger.
Note: This message will be sent to all active clients once finalized. Consider this a pre-release for the LET community.
Let’s talk about what we’ve been up to behind the scenes:
- We revamped our datacenter footprint — including a key move to a new facility to reduce costs.
- We negotiated better rates with our transit providers.
- We built our own in-house DDoS mitigation engine and have run it alongside our vendor solution for years.
- We made significant hardware investments — Ryzen, EPYC, and more.
- We developed new products, solutions, and value-adds, including a completely new network stack.
- We upgraded our network from 10G → 40G, and now to multi-100G network capacity.
- We expanded from just a few regions to multiple points across Canada, the US, Europe, and Asia.
- We kept our pricing stable throughout this growth and expansion.
- We developed a brand-new in-house portal, Waveline, to manage billing, services, and automation for VPS, Dedicated, Game Servers, and more. It’s almost ready — beta testing is just around the corner!
- We grew our team to better support infrastructure, handle support workload, and scale with our growth.
Many of these changes have been years in the making. Most are already complete, and the rest (like Waveline) are nearing production readiness.
Now, onto a key update:
Terabit will be refactoring its pricing model. Let’s address the big question right away:
No, your current service pricing will not be affected at this time. All active services will retain their current pricing until further notice.
Why the change?
Our operational costs have significantly increased — not just from expansion, but from the level of service, automation, infrastructure, and network quality we aim to deliver. Years ago, our monthly overhead was around $3,000 USD. Today, before accounting for hardware, staff, and network improvements, that figure exceeds $12,000 USD/month.
We've held pricing low despite all this, but to continue offering the same level of service and support — while remaining sustainable — a small adjustment is necessary.
Here’s what’s changing:
Premium Transit will soon be bundled into all plans at no extra cost — no more $3/month add-on.
Standard VPS pricing (higher-spec models) will be slightly adjusted for a better price-to-performance balance. Increases will not exceed $2/month for most affected models.
Basically Dedicated lineup is being restructured. Xeon-based plans will be removed from this lineup (Xeons will be reserved for our standard VPS offerings). EPYC-based nodes will become the forever standard including newer generation processors (Genoa, Turin), improving overall performance and reliability.
New Basically Dedicated pricing (for new orders only):
16GB Monthly: $14 → $16
32GB Monthly: $28 → $32
64GB Monthly: N/A → $64
128GB Monthly: N/A → $128
New Benefits: Premium Transit (a $3/mo value) now included free.
Old dedicated server plans will no longer be available for new orders. Most clients prefer our Basically Dedicated lineup, so we’re focusing on that. A new dedicated server lineup will launch within 2–3 months. There are no changes to pricing for existing dedicated servers.
Colocation pricing remains unchanged.
This isn’t an easy message to write. No one likes raising prices — we get that. But this isn’t about cutting corners or chasing margins. It’s about sustaining the level of service and value you’ve come to expect from us — and continuing to improve it.
We’re grateful for your support and your trust over the years. The small increase allows us to continue growing, building better systems, offering better performance, and delivering the quality you deserve.
Thanks for sticking with us throughout the years, and we can't wait to share with you all soon our newest enhancements to our platform!

So, you wrote a whole novel just to say your business is failing and you're out of cash? Cool.
I'm not sure if you read the post, but that certainly wasn't what it said.
IPV6 when? website still says vps comes with single ipv4 adress
Terabit representative writing this:

Curtis is still waiting to get a new subnet routed to the dc.
Holy shit, so much BS to justify price increase
...
Increase price -> loose customers. Math is simple in low end. No need for massive anals of text.
We did make it clear that existing services are not increasing in pricing, only new ones.
Impressive growth!
Terabit was pretty high end to begin with.
thanks!
You lucky guy you

So the people that got 'Basically dedicated' for $5/mth a few weeks ago did pretty well then?
TLDR: celebratory discounts incoming!
If you got epyc node maybe
Congratulations Terabit on all the improvements! We need more and more providers who try to improve with better hardware, network, and interfaces.
However, be careful with that price increasing! A huge economic crisis is looming everywhere on the planet due to irrational political decisions with disrespect to humanity as a whole. Nobody wants to get caught up with huge prices and investments to recover during such times. In simple terms: be careful and play it safe!
Doesn't want to drag those into thread, but have to agree hard on this.
Congrats @SilverCreek on anything you're expanding!
