Looking for Used Mini PC in Pakistan — Low Power, Dual Drive Support, Gigabit LAN

Hello
Hey everyone,

I'm in the market for a used mini PC here in Lahore, Pakistan, and I could really use some suggestions or leads (OLX, FB Marketplace, local vendors, etc.). I prefer H2H instead of shipping

If anyone is running a similar setup, please do share it.

Here are my requirements:

Processor: Intel 4th Gen or newer, or a compatible AMD processor

Power Consumption: Very low TDP is a must — trying to keep the power draw minimal

Storage Support: Must support both an M.2 SATA SSD and a 2.5" SSD/HDD

Networking: At least 1 Gigabit LAN; bonus if it can be upgraded to 2.5GbE

Budget: Max 20,000 PKR ($70) — so I’m looking for used options, preferably on OLX

Purpose: Basic server tasks (Kodi, file sharing, maybe some Docker containers later)

Size/Form Factor: Preferably ultra-compact / mini size

I’ve already checked out some options like Fujitsu Esprimo Q520 and Lenovo M73 Tiny, but I’m not sure which ones support M.2 and have the lowest power usage. Many listings also don’t provide enough details.

If anyone is already running a similar setup, or has found a great deal recently in Pakistan, please point me in the right direction 🙏

Thanks in advance!

Are you looking to buy or rent a host that has one?

Very low TDP is a must

How much do you pay for electricity there in Lahore?
For being ultra compact, netbooks are ~10", Chromebooks ~13".

    Buy

I would check aliexpress. Look for Bee-link and GMKtec seem to be decent brands. I have 2 bee-link's myself.

    There's a Soyo M2 Plus (N150 CPU, 8gb ram, 256gb nvme) for $77.26.

For your specs, you'll generally need to spend more, though. If you can get to around $200, you will have a lot more options.

For one problem ("which micro PC has what hw. config & capabilities?") I have a hint for you: google for "parky towers thin client". That guy has a wealth of info (incl. photos of the inside) for many if not most thin clients (which is what you're looking for: small or even tiny, low power consumption "PCs").

Hint 2: As those are typically used in offices (a) there are lots of them available 2nd hand, and (b) they usually tend to be in good condition (if any usually only minor cosmetic damage like a scratch).

Sorry to say, but MiniPCs are waste for Sub continental climate

I am from a neighboring country and selfhosting a lot of stuff.

I have extensively tried these older gen MiniPC and not most, but I would say, all of them are having really poor thermals. There is no way one can install any better cooler due to the space issue, infact there isn't any 3rd party option (heatsink) either due to weird and non standard design choices

There is no way you can run these without constant thermal throttle, unless you can put them into A/C Rooms along with a table fan to constantly blow cold air to it's intake. And there goes all your electricity savings

Bare Min, for x86, S.F.F (Small Form Factor) can do. That too very few with comes with good CPU coolers to handle sub continental climate but at least with SFF or full tower, you have some room for 3rd party CPU cooler and higher air flow fans.

    Thanks.

I3 8100T should be good enough for my tasks.
