https://wesellsaas.com/ is now the link for information about our cloud storage service.
Thanks!
I think using Minio with Erasure Code would be a better choice.
I'm a developer of a similar cloud storage service.
I'd love to talk about it more and see if we can come up with some ideas together!

Thanks!
Are you the quotaless guy???
@plumberg
I set up the dead man's switch.
Now all users and the datacenter owner will receive a warning email if I am offline for 4 days.
Thanks
Yep
Welp, I bit the bullet. $1.5 for 1TB/M, hard to go wrong... Speeds are incredible, able to max out a 1Gbps connection.... The real question will be how long it will last! So far, so good. And "mach3db" is super responsive.
@Turner
Thank you for your positive review!
I am not going anywhere.
I need the server for multiple purposes.
Why would I shut it down?
I own the hardware outright and the colocation fees are not unreasonable.
Thanks!
I have 4 TB left on the current RAID 1.
I would charge $480 for a 4 TB lifetime deal.
Otherwise, I could go a bit below the usual $1.50 per month if you take all 4 TB.
Please email james {at} wesellsaas.com and let me know what you need.
Thanks!
I signed up for the $1.50/month ($2.15 CAD/month) 1TB plan today. I will share my thoughts after testing it for a couple of days.
I will actually consider this in few months/years
OP looks lost asf but i assume he knoes what he's doing
Lifetime? I'd stay away
I ended up being unable to use this service as my preferred S3 client is not supported. But James was very responsive in helping me to try and debug my client issue, below is our email thread:
[mohammad]
Hi James,
I will take the monthly plan. Yes I have a PayPal account. Can you please provide credentials via a secure means such as 1password one time use share link or Magic wormhole.
[James]
Here is the link to sign up:
https://wesellsaas.com/paypal-1tb-subscription.html
I will send the credentials securely.

[mohammad]
Is there a delay for the DNS record to propagate?
The subdomain mohammadali.mach3db.com. does not currently have any A, AAAA, or CNAME DNS records.
[James]
It's working for me in S3 Browser:
https://s3browser.com/
Depending on your client you may need to connect in MinIO compatible mode.
I will try to connect with Cryptomator on my end.
[james]
Cryptomator did not connect.
You can reach out to them about adding compatibility with MinIO and GarageHQ based S3 providers.
But it is probably easier to find a different S3 client with broader compatibility.
[mohammad]
I figured out how to get it to connect by enabling the legacy deprecated path style requests.
I am able to view files but whenever I upload a file the Apache server gives me a
500 Internal Server Errorresponse.[James]
Apache is only watching ports 443 and 669.
So it is hitting the wrong port if you get that error 500.
S3 uses port 7004 only.
[mohammad]
No, Apache is watching port 7004
If I run curl -I https://mach3db.com:7004 in the terminal, one of the response headers is Server: Apache/2.4.58 (Ubuntu)
Can you please check the server log and see what is causing the error?
[James]
Please try without https:// at the beginning of the url
it might be redirecting it to port 443
[mohammad]
It is an HTTP protocol, there is no way for me to try without HTTP at the start of the url.
Here are logs from my client
...
[James]
Can you use rclone?
Cyberduck did not work well for me in testing.
....
In the end James kindly refunded me.
"If you upload anything extremely illegal, we will notify the proper authorities." - interesting. that means you (one-man-company) look into the data i upload?
@hyperblast
I do not want illegal files on my server.
My server is in Texas, it is not the proper jurisdiction for a seed box.
However, if you encrypt your files, I will not be able to tell what they are either way.
Thanks
but if the data is not encrypted, do you check what's on the hard disks? so in the sense of @CharityHost_org
@ServerBachelor
@hyperblast
I don't snoop on files unduly, but if I or the datacenter stumble across something obviously illegal, we will not ignore it.
All of my customers so far seem reputable, and some have encrypted their files before uploading, which makes the monitoring conundrum moot.
Thanks
Could you clarify this please:
Whats mildly and whats extremely? Do you have some examples?
@gbzret4d
Mild would be games, movies, music (normal pirated stuff).
Everyone knows what content would be deemed extremely illegal.
Thanks
Yeah right, don't think you came for real, than just to say something good, if the host is too new to know .
OP, is it you?
That would be a bizarre conversation to fabricate. I think you're misunderstanding
Imo it makes OP look bad. No offense
@hezi
The real end to the conversation was that the user needed an open source iOS S3 client that has GarageHQ / minIO support.
I found a closed source client with support, but no open source one.
Thanks
Do you guys plan on launching a website and opening a cloud storage platform in future?
@instancehost
What features would you like for a website?
Our site at https://wesellsaas.com/ is merely informational for now.
We already offer cloud storage, but setup is manual for now as a deluge of signups wouldn't allow for timely provisioning of hardware.
Please email james {at} wesellsaas.com if you'd like to purchase some S3, NBD, SFTP, or other cloud storage on our enterprise SAS hardware RAID 1 setup.
Thanks!
@mach3db I would suggest a full fledged clcoud storage website like web hosting providers, it would definitely create more trust and with a self service portal, it would be great.
No hate, the current website is fine and works upon contact, that is cool, but I thought I'd suggest somethings to make your solution better.
@Turner fr, 1.5$/TB is a great deal ngl.
@plumberg They gotta use a tool even if they do not, they'd have the data in their database and dashboards anyways. But I do understand your concern regarding the data on thirdparty software, but it should be fine.
Honestly, I hope they do great.
Just an FYI, Cyberduck does work fine with the service, just needs a few settings tweaked on the client.
