How to do PT correctly?
I just bought an interserver storage server and plan to use it to build emby, a private video library.
The resources I know so far are all downloaded through PT stations, but each PT station has different rules and requires download and upload amounts. I have never been able to tell the difference...
I am currently planning to purchase a server to act as a proxy server for Qb, because the interserver only has 4TB of traffic..
For uploading and downloading, can I just keep seeding after Qb has finished downloading?

Ask Interserver for a refund because you clearly don't know what you are doing. Find a seedbox provider with 1-click installations.
Storage vps s are not meant to be abused by Emby encoding and 24/7 seeding; they will kick you out eventually.
I disabled emby encoding, seeding and downloading. Maybe I can use other ones. Interserver is only used for storage.
That depends on each PT you have. Read the rules, read the faq of each tracker. port forward your torrent port on QB, seed files for the correct amount of times.
And a 4tb bw server cannot be used as a seedbox mate, you wont be able to seed anything with that. I can go through 4tb in a couple days.
Mostly PT have they own rules like Hit&Run, so make sure you have good traffic for seeding.
Assuming PT means private trackers, it’s not as complicated as you imagine. Just see what the seeding time and ratio requirements are for each tracker and don’t remove the downloaded files unless that criteria is met. It totally depends on which tracker you use because some allow removing the files (or stop seeding/uploading) once you reach a ratio of 1:1 while others make it mandatory to keep seeding for x amount of time like 7 days and so on. Maybe tell us which tracker you plan to use for better suggestions.
I'm currently using PTfans, maybe I should buy a seed box, it would be better
I tried to download it, but the status showed: Seeding, but he didn't have any traffic to download or upload. The pt website also showed that I only had download traffic, no upload. I don't know why.
Seeding mean you have that complete contents or have partialy. If the PT only showed ur download traffic and not upload, that's mean only u download that torrent.
Yes, I know what this means, so after I downloaded from qb, I did not delete the seed file. The seed file showed: seeding, but there was no traffic. Is it my problem?
If you can see that your port is open then it's simply not got any seeders - try downloading a popular torrent that has many seeders.
No, it’s not your problem. You’ll see upload only when someone downloads the same torrent. Even if that happens, if there are other people like you (seeders), the protocol will prefer the seeders with faster speed. You may or may not see any upload data unless you are the only seeder. In such a case, you can simply focus on completing the criteria of seeding time. See what the PT rules say about seeding time requirement or hit-n-run criteria.
OK, I see, thanks, I thought it was my problem
ok,thanks!
Oh, by the way, I see this PTfans is hardly a year-old tracker. I would suggest getting into better ones like Torrentleech or IPT (not that they’re the best but easy to get into). DigitalCore is also currently open for signup; it’s a decent one too. Milkie is also a good option(always open & semi private) to get started.
I just started to use pt, I don't know much about it yet, but I'm too bored recently and want to make an emby
I registered Milkie
With Milkie you can download whatever you want without any conditions like ratio/seeding requirements etc. Basically all benefits of a public tracker but still private.
Thank you. Do you have any seedbox recommendations? I feel it is more convenient to use this dedicated one. The hard disk of interserver seems to have some problems. I used it to install a software yesterday and the load became very high.
Ultra .cc, hostingbydesign etc are good from a more budget friendly and managed services perspective. Otherwise Leaseweb dedis are the way to go. Most of the seedbox providers resell them anyway.
I'm looking at hostingbydesign, it's cheaper than ultra.cc and also supports emby
