Which datacenter has very good connectivity with LATAM?

TerranodeTerranode Member, Host Rep

Hello everyone, I've been hosting a project for a client in Ecuador for the past month, but the connectivity issue has complicated the project, as downloads rarely exceed 4MB/s.

I have a couple of servers in Houston where speeds are higher, but I'd like to know if you know of any other datacenters or providers that have a better connection to Latam. I've been trying some Looking Glass servers from those in Miami, but the results are the same as if I were in Ohio.

If you are looking for North American data centers, any network that is peered with Edgeuno via a large exchange is typically your best bet.

Do you have any test IPs you have based in Ecuador you'd like us to send path/latency results?

From what I know a decent DC in Miami is your best option.

My Miami location just uses ReliableSite's network, they are in CoreSite MI1.

@Terranode If you want to check from RSNET Miami check out my looking glass. Their network in Miami is great for South America connectivity.

A DC in Miami with FL-IX connectivity would be the best way to connect to most providers in South America.

For Ecuador I don't believe we have direct peering with like a lot of Brazil.

Ping times will be higher than Miami due to distance but can always test the speeds for our New York location.

What are the download speeds from here? CDN77 has one of the best networks in Miami, and they are our upstream there.

  • Miami is a great option, from São Paulo > Miami, @Hivelocity has the best connection I've ever seen.
