Taiwan is actually better than Hong Kong for latency to the GFW. If you're gonna be hosting anything that you want china to have access to, or you are using it for a bgp pop for china, Taiwan is the best bet.
From Taiwan into mainland over dedicated link with very undercrowded GFW filter on it - 30ms max
Over Hong Kong to china with crowded GFW filters = 110ms averages
Only way to get better than Taiwan for the latency is to pay for that fancy 1mb/s for 100$ from the CCP lol 😂

Any other hosts that do manual setup on some really custom offers ever have the feeling that customers are trying to torture you by ordering really slow to install OSes like Almalinux? Lol
No lie - Debian installer = 10 mins max start to finish ; Ubuntu = 20mins for some reason and then you have the issue of network wait until you get in first time and disable that weird shit - 45 minutes to a usable system; and AlmaLinux - 45 minutes just the installer and then you still have to go in and make cloudinit and everything work.
I think on the next offers I do, it'll be install your own OS hahaha 🤣
