@tynan said: You must be an avid fan of avsisp, preferring to get a lower configuration during the same promotion with the same discount code. Your words make me sick.

You paid for your product, he delivered it, period!

That's how it is, but it's not a satisfying activity.

It's like you went to buy a burger today, and the store suddenly announced that anyone who buys a burger after 12:00 can get a free portion of fries. You check the time and realize you placed your order at 11:59.

Our last deal for this thread and then our offers close tonight at Midnight UTC:
Use Code LONDON for the 20% off on our London Location - plus - Anyone ordering in these final hours (until Midnight UTC - for London Location Only) will get:

    • 1 Extra IPv4 Address (even if ordering v6 only, you'll get dual-stack)
    • Double NVME Space
    • Free 2.5Gb/s for those ordering 1Gb/s, 5Gb/s for those ordering 2.5Gb/s, or 10Gb/s for those ordering 5Gb/s.
    • Double vCPU Cores
    • 50% Extra Ram (512MB gets 768MB, 1Gb get 1.5Gb, so on)

You do not need to do anything extra. Order with Code LONDON which will give you 20% off - on setup we will upgrade the specs for anyone using the code before Midnight UTC.

Enjoy and thanks to everyone here at the best hosting forum on the planet.

    Invoice #51

Please help me upgrade this vps, it is still IPv6 ONLY

Again, you don't need to do anything extra including posting anything here.

On SETUP it will be upgraded. Setup isn't instant on London node - we set them up in batches hourly manually to ensure everyone gets the the exact OS and specs they require.

Please standby and on setup, it will indeed show double in the Proxmox panel that you'll get access to.

    Thank you for your support.

@avsisp I spent the same amount as this event at the first opportunity and used the same discount code, but I still can't get the upgrade? Don't run upgrade campaigns you can't commit to!

Below is the response from support.

Your order was BEFORE that post today. It does not qualify for upgrade.

You can purchase another if you would like to have it upgraded.

    Thank you for your understanding.

You ordered before the offer. The offer was for the final day of the Birthday thread - yesterday - not for days ago.

Can you go to a store, buy something today, and then a few days later if they post a special buy one get one free, can you go ask them to give you another one free?

Anyone who ordered during that time period AFTER the post was made offering it for the REST OF THAT DAY did indeed get doubled up as was offered.

We definitely honor our deals - but you are the only one here that decided after the fact that there was a better deal they wanted the new deal after they already had paid and it was already delivered.

To honor your request, we would have to delete and re-build your VM entirely - and it isn't fair to others who paid normal and didn't make issues after a new deal was posted. This - what you are doing - is literally equivalent to requesting the store give you a buy one, get one free when you bought before that offer was valid.

    HOWEVER:

If you want, I can throw you an IPv4 as a good-will gesture. Other upgrades require VM rebuild.

I must disagree with your comparison. This situation is not about two separate sales. It concerns a single promotional event where the terms were altered, disadvantaging initial participants.

The core principle here is that customers who paid an identical price using an identical promotional code during the same campaign should receive the same product. Currently, early supporters are at a clear disadvantage.

I accept that a VM rebuild is necessary for the upgrade. Please proceed with it. My request is simply to receive the same configuration that was rightfully offered to others under the exact same payment conditions.

You bought an ipv6 vps, you got an ipv6 vps, what do you want?

    https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/4469665/#Comment_4469665
Could you please check what the merchant has sent? If this is an additional promotion, I certainly have no issue with it. They could use different promotion codes just like @host_c . However, they are using time intervals instead, which makes the earliest supporters look foolish.

can you read this part out loud to yourself?

Anyone ordering in these final hours (until Midnight UTC - for London Location Only) will get:

You did not buy in the promotional period. You bought a product and got the product. There's literally nothing to argue about. Stop whining.

This is a terrible rule in itself. I understand what it says, but buying a VPS on LET will always only incentivize those who place orders the fastest, not the ones who place orders the latest.

EDIT (after @tynan made a quote): I meant, if there's a new offer created, the definition of 'fastest' restarts from that point in time.

So? Please explain to me why 'late' people should be given benefits over fastest people. fastest people are at least more diligent.

So the merchant rewarded those who arrived late, it's that simple.

Look, I'm gonna say this again - thank you for your patronage - but - we cannot reinstall the entire VM to match the configuration of those that took last minute deal. It wasn't a deal thrown out to reward the last minute purchasers. The entire purpose was to entice those that otherwise passed on it as an IPv6 only deal.

You obviously didn't have any issues with it as an IPv6 only deal as you took it during that time. Others even paid extra during that time for the IPv4, which you also could have done then. Should they all be refunded for their purchases and never charged? Should we just give everyone everything for free? Should I just give you the entire server to do with as you please?

It doesn't make sense. You already made your order. You were already happy. Now you've come back later and said "shit, I should have waited until it went on sale more". Waiting would have been a risk if doesn't go down, not waiting guaranteed it then but didn't have any guarantees for the future pricing going up or down. That is how the market works.

If tomorrow I give away 3 free VPSes, will you said I should give you 1 even if you don't apply during that time? Because you ordered in past?

Also: thank you to everyone and your support. I really appreciate it 🙏

    Thank you for your support.

    image

When you clicked on this post, you should have noticed "Who's Doing a Special Offer?" If your offer isn't special enough, you should start a separate thread instead of offering discounts twice in the same thread. I have no objection to buying an IPv6-only VPS at this price; I just think the way you conduct promotions is not respectable.

I have no objection to buying an IPv6-only VPS at this price; I just think the way you conduct promotions is not respectable.

It is common practice to offer "last chance" or "final hours" deals. Look back in this thread. How many other providers offered multiple offers here, one better than the next? How many people were counting down to the next offers or asking them for next offer if it'll be better?

If you'd like a refund, we can refund you and cancel gladly. Otherwise, we can add the IPv4 - keeping my word on that - even though everyone seems to think you shouldn't even get that - as a token. It's the best we can do.

You were even offered, in the ticket you posted a screenshot of, to order another one. And next month you could have cancelled the v6 one. But instead you came here and made a fuss for nothing - for what could have been resolved right there in the ticket.

We always reply to tickets and try to help customers the best we can. But you went out of your way to attempt a smear campaign - and failed miserably from the looks of it - as LET long timers are definitely not naive enough to buy into it.

You've been told several - and I do mean several - times here before I even replied that you were in the wrong. But you seem a bit hard headed or unable to see it. You even admitted so in your own post where you compare it to buying a burger just to realize you were early for a special - it might suck - but the burger stand isn't out to get you. And neither are we.

People like this is why I wouldn’t want to start a LET host

You are aware that, provider can just refund your money and refuse to keep you as customer right? It seems like you are pushing for that at the moment.

Why would you fight with your provider if you are planning to use them? How would you benefit from this?
