    Offshore hosting != Illegal.

No idea where you get this idea from.

Offshore hosting, in my opinion, simply refers to hosting which is not applicable to the customer's country, e.g. a customer from a South East Asian country will be looking for a privacy-oriented hosting provider if he wishes to host, let's say, a gay forum. He will not want to go for the Google-spamming "offshore hosting" providers, he will need someone who will not judge, and who will not under any circumstances ask for any information.

That is my definition of offshore hosting, not ChatGPT's, or anyone else's.

Even though I am being accused of dirty money, and whatever else? Because I voiced my opinion? Even pointed out people selling clearly illegal domains (which is fine), me offering to register FREE domains and point out that they COULD, POTENTIALLY use them for a warez site = no bueno.

    It's just funny, honestly.

No point in partaking in a discussion with you; you only have one setting, and that is "ignorant".

I would love to have an earnest and intelligent conversation with you on whether anyone today can say that their money was earned morally unless they worked in the service industry (everyone else, mainly people who run tech companies, or even hosting companies, outsource and exploit workforce from countries where they can get away with it, etc) where they are clearly being exploited and being given low or unfair wages. Which should be illegal, and yet, it is not. I am not doing any of these things... if giving the middle finger to the MPA makes me a bad person, then so be it.

Both of which have to be proven in court, otherwise what it is other than someone's opinion? You tell me what laws I have broken by selling unmanaged dedicated servers, and cultivating a working relationship with LE over the years, without EVER hosting any malware, or having any malicious activity coming from the network. What that dude is saying is just poppycock. Literal poppycock.

Calling selling servers dirty money because something might be fetish oriented, or might, allegedly, infringe on someone's copyrights somewhere is just... poppycock.

So only legal definitions can be discussed, ever? Not the definition outside of the court room?

If you can’t have a non-legal discussion maybe you should have been a lawyer instead.

As he always does he talks about random shit, just like himself, does stonewalling so he dodges the questions you ask.

You should be 5 year old or a such a special person to believe that a website that has totally legal content would prefer to get hosted in some offshore in Seychelles hidden behind some layers of privacy. I do understand the pirate content hosted, rest would be just shady shit. But why would you shit on your customers when you enjoy their sweet money right? Keep ignoring, until it's the last second when someone is at your door with some court order to raid your business.

You should protect your customers, and make sure that their data is protected, and that you won't erroneously respond to requests from people sending fake subpoenas and such. When you have been in the business long enough, you would have seen it all.

Is that illegal? Questionable? Not allowed? Do I have to hide behind some location that is preferred for privacy for questionable shit to share some aff links? Is that the lowest shit that you can attack me with?

Dude, I have 100% clear concious of things I do, I am not hiding behind some bullshit excuse as 'Im doing things as it should be done, or people can't understand shit.'

Random bullshit as usual to dodge things

The dude is acting like he invented the fucking atom bomb for the good of humanity and walking around like he is proud of himself.

You are not questioning things and turning blind eye into things, till they bite you in the ass. You are asking for legal notice as you know that if you ignore that, they will bust your ass.

Reporting shit to your abuse email, shouldn't require legal notice. To give a clear example, if I find C&C hosted on your servers, I should be able to tell you the IP and show you the proof and you should remove that C&C. First, because now you are aware of the issue, second it's illegal. But instead you are just hoping that people will not report things to police, or you know how things are so slow on legal system that it will take years before some legal request knocks his door.

And to answer that, I contacted many big hosts (like Hetzner) or LET hosts with proof showing their IP is hosting the C&C server, and they just removed it in next 48 hours.

If 95% of the companies do things this way, and if you are in 5% that doesn't do it this way, it doesn't mean you are doing the things correctly or whatever the f* you call them. It means you are doing shady shit.

Mofo is expecting people to go to police to report every single IP that hosts malware then expects court order to just suspend the customer.

And of course it's all anonymous and shit, same customer can come back to him again back just under different IP, as it's all privacy oriented offshore service.

Never have I ever had a singe SBL listing, you dimwit. But, what can you request from weirdos shilling affiliate links? :) Affiliate shit is cancerous, and cannot serve as a review as it's biased. Thus, cancerous.

Still, though... waiting for you to show me 1 single SBL listing I ever received.

Dude claims affiliate links are cancerous, like I’m using some popup advertising on some website to annoy users.

If it really bothers you, I can remove them, I don’t need a court or police order for that. Its just a nice way to give exposure to some small hosts on LET. Exposure being links in my signature.

Mofo claims he re invents the hosting business by hosting shady shit and then refuse to understand affiliate linking.

But of course we all know its just another random bullshit spewing. Like focusing on “SBL records” when being asked why he doesn’t take any action without legal notice.

Typical case of "it's free speech as long as I personally agree with what you have to say." Kind of explains why you're willing to operating in that specific hosting niche. Then if anyone disagrees with your views you just personally attack them.

Again, this is just an emberrassing hissy fit by a grown adult over receiving a mild warning - that expires in a few days and isn't visible to anyone - for willingly not following the rules.

What are you even doing? Is this your biggest issue in life? Surely not, yet act like it is?

Post with your real account, then you might get a serious response.

Otherwise get the same treatment like that other weirdo.

It's a problem, because it's such a minor thing to be fixed, yet it had to go nuclear. Like I have ever done anything warning worthy. I treat people with respect, unless people treat me like shit.

I have never hosted malware. Phishing. Anything other than adult related things, fetish, etc. 100% legal. If it weren't, it would have been dealt with by the authorities. Period.

Anyone that says differently is just attacking me to, well.. just attack me for the sake of it.

You must be looking at yourself in the mirror while calling this.

I might get called many thing on LET, and weirdo is not one of them, at least by sane people.

You on the other hand get called many things, and you deserve all of those names.

I have never hosted malware. Phishing. Anything other than adult related things, fetish, etc. 100% legal. If it weren't, it would have been dealt with by the authorities. Period.

I am not telling this to you, because you will be an ignorant ... anyways. So feel free to dodge this as usual.

Imagine you are hosting adult related things, fetish etc. '100% legal things' as your own words, which is prefererd by customers that prefers offshore and privacy.

First question, if it's 100% legal, why would someone require this much privacy? Slap 2257 notice on the footer of the site, put the custodian info and it's all good. All legal and allowed stuff which would be accepted by many people. Like most adult sites. Hide the name of the owners etc behind some company in EU or in Wyoming and then call it a day.

Or, host questionable adult stuff, call them fetish, which wouldn't be accepted on those mainstream hosting providers that allow legal content (as long as you can prove that they are legally recorded, all the acting parties are over 18 and consent to the content recorded).

And by the way you can call many thing fetishes. Like choking while sex might be a fetish, till one of the parties go to police and file an assault claim. And till someone knocks your door with police order, you could just call all of those choking content as 'fetish'

Edit: Also to add on this, as we are talking about legality, the website 4chan is also considered legal.

edit: but was @angstrom in on it? or an unwitting pawn? do we need a poll?

I applaud your creativity, and I like your Howard Stern-esque absurd scenario, but, no. None of it was orchestrated.

I genuinely got offended, because, maybe, I shouldn't mention this publicly, but... I am autistic, and I suppose, the cat's out the bag, and there's nothing to be ashamed, although I'd rather keep it to myself.

But, I take certain things that other people take like it's "oh, whatever", extremely seriously, and it actually bothers me, and offends me to the point where I doubt myself, and my own intentions.

Even though, deep down, I know that I had good intentions. Due to my prior communication with practically the entire LET Staff; I had assumed that my giveaways were kosher because I always delivered on my promises.

I didn't think I was above the rules, I had interpreted the rule as it was a deterrent. Due to the plethora of scammers and summerhosts that plague LET, and so I thought to myself, why should I bother them when they know who I am, I had transactions with the Staff themselves, exchanged goods and services, bought goods and services... everything kosher, no issues.

I offered .RU and .SU domains as a gift and mentioned DMCA because, let's be honest, @DP --whom I consider a friend, and who is Staff, is selling domains related to DMCA ignore... other users do as well. I never did any such thing, I mentioned PLAUSIBLE uses for such ccTLD's, and that's the entirety of my crime.

Now that I think on it, I also don't believe that there was anything wrong with that thread, either... it's up to the user... if users can offer DMCA ignore hosting, sell DMCA ignore domains... why would I not be able to do a giveaway of 10x .RU and .SU domains of users choosing and say that they could POTENTIALLY use it for such a use case, and not get in trouble with the MPA whilst doing so?

The other thing... I never flaunted, maybe it seemed like I flaunted, but I tried to explained that I helped a PLETHORA of users in private without ever telling any living soul a word, and I never will. I do not believe I am betraying their trust by saying this, it is simply me saying that I couldn't care less about the "public persona".

I care about respect and dignity.

If you have no respect and dignity for others, then who are you really as a person? Genuinely? I have never gained anything from being here other than friends, and that's all I really wanted in the end, and I am grateful for that.

But am I happy with how the situation was handled? The lack of care from the rest of the Staff members? Even though I genuinely always tried to help no matter what? I would understand if I was taking advantage of LET... but I am not. I am literally giving things away, and hoping that it changes how other providers see our community.

Especially our users from Asia; they are treated horribly; and from the sheer amount of Asian users that I have dealt with. I have seen nothing but respect, and polite conversations.

I won't lie, I like LET... I feel like it grew on me, and regardless of what I wrote, I still stand behind everything that I wrote. The reason why is quite simple: I still believe that some rules are too archaic, and should be interpreted properly, and not in a glitchy Max Headroom style, where you can get a completely different response based on, well, nothing...

Think of my post as rambling, think of me as some lunatic, or whatever... think of it that it's dirty money. But I host adult sites ran by people from the late 1990s who wouldn't be online to this day if something was "off" with them, and the reason why they chose me is because I provide them with privacy, and in this day and age, if you run anything remotely similar to things like that. Especially in countries like Russia, you are going to be a target, and you will be extorted.

You can believe me, but you also don't have to... you can also believe that I basically have no proceeds from the hosting and that everything goes on operating costs, and that I am more interested in growing it properly, and making sure that I can handle projects of any size than to line my own pockets, and do what exactly... Spend it on hookers and blow?

Money isn't everything in life... but that $20 that I can spend on something stupid can go a long way for someone in a country in the Philippines, and speaking as someone who grew up dirt poor, I will never change my way of thinking.

Also, I wish @jbiloh replied. I wish that he had said something, because I actually thought that he cared from my previous interactions with him.

Same with the rest of the Staff... while @FAT32 did kind of make most sense, I realized that he wasn't quite right about the domains because people are selling illegal domains (Staff included), and all I did was include potential uses (plausible), and I never said that they would be used for such things.

In any case. I always explain myself, I don't dodge questions, I just answer them in a way that I believe won't let me be me misunderstood.

I hope you don't mind the length of the post.
