I threw Minio on a storage VPS and then run Arq backup on my Mac. Put it inside a Tailscale VPN setup. That or similar might be an option.
Also use another storage VPS with Syncthing. Have a few gaming devices using it to sync files, including saves.
Setup a media server, hoard stuff you enjoy (music, photos, etc), experiment different distros or just transfer it to someone who actually needs it like this guy
