Angstrom's "Warning"

VeraselVerasel Member

I would just like to say that the warning that angstrom issued me for continuing with my latest giveaways which are absolutely kosher by the entire administration due to:
a) the amount of giveaways
b) that i always deliver on my promises
c) that i dont even publicize some of them

I would like to also say that he is not fit for the duty of a moderator of any type of community. He does not understand common sense or human nature, and he simply shouldn't be Staff.

I would do a heck of a better job, and in fact, nominate myself, knowing that I would at least be unbiased and not lack common sense.

Rules are guidelines, they are not the Bible.

He should resign, IMHO.

Absolute disgrace of a "warning", honestly.

  • You are taking a direct jab at a moderator, be careful brother.

Other than that, 10/10 I'm behind you on this initiative.

  • @trewq said: All members (including providers) who wish to organize a giveaway or offer free items for the community, must obtain approval from a moderator or admin via a Help Desk ticket.

Once approved, you can proceed to post under the "Giveaways & Freebies" category and mention the approving moderator/admin in your post. Failure to comply will result in the removal of your post.

Did you follow all the rules?

    I couldn't care less.

I believe in free speech above all else, and you shouldn't be Staff if you take "rules" literally.

    It's Community 101.

Couldn't care less amount money, I have given away domains worth thousands, if not some, closer to mid to high xx,xxx. Not everything in life is about money, but I won't stand for bullshit.

As always; I do giveaways... he either deleted my 10GB/s giveaway thread, or 5x RU and 5x SU giveaway thread. Absolute joke. Literally.

You know better than anyone how many domains I have given you.

Have I asked for anything in return? Reviews? Anything?

Is he one of the staff you wanted to privately vet people's complaints about providers?

  • So that topic got deleted? I thought that my screen reading software not works well, that I couldn't find that topic, didn't expect deletion occurred. Sorry it happened, @Verasel.

Huh? No clue, I don't know him. I just call out stupid when I see stupid.

  • Maybe try to solve it trough private message, instead of opening a thread. I think it's more to protect the community against scammers because there are allot and it also happend allot here already.

I am sorry, too. Absolute nonsense.

@jbiloh After you have started and completed as many giveaways as I have, helped people privately, did all sorts of things for the community. Does it sound reasonable to you to pester mods about every giveaway you are going to do? Realistically?

I actually demand an apology from @angstrom, and if I receive one, thread is restored. I will apologize for being, perhaps, a tiny bit harsh towards him. Harsh, but honest.

No, it is not. It is about idiocy.

    Ask anyone about me.

    @plumberg for example.

Well anyway hope it works out ok but go easy on the mods, they're just following the rules too.

Have you tried the help desk? It seems you're taking things pretty personally for the community rules.

@trewq said: If you believe that one of us has acted out of turn and made an improper decision, you can request additional information or review via our Help Desk. Please understand that "request" does not mean you are entitled to either. We may approve or deny any request without stated reason. If that flares up your paranoia, maybe this community is not a good fit for you.

    Oooo

You've always been selfless with your giveaways for real.

Deleting threads for what reason? Damn that's next level of flexing

I know that @Verasel has selflessly done some giveaways

And without asking for anything back.

If something is amiss thrn mods should come clean here.

i really dont know what the fuss is all about
as pointed out by @jwg29859 all you needed to do was submit a ticket to staff for them to approve and you are free to post and it also mentioned that if that does not happen the post will be removed
so you are mad because the staff did exactly that?

  • MMMMMMMMMMMM Member

I thought anyone can do giveaway without any approval

  • @debug said: Have you tried the help desk? It seems you're taking things pretty personally for the community rules.

Treat me with respect, I will treat you with respect.

Treat me like trash, I will state my case openly in front of everyone to see and judge accordingly.

I believe I was treated like trash. Like I mentioned to @jbiloh, after so many gieveaways... should I pester Staff for each and every one of them, considering I have 3 planned as we speak? On top of the other ones?

I am sorry, but I am not profiting from LET, if I were.. fine enough.. but the amount of stuff I have given away. Ridiculous.

Thanks, bro. I just don't get it... Support desk, et al... Yeah, if it's somethig normal... if it's some power trip. Nah...

  • timmmytimmmy Member

so because you give away lots of stuff you feel you should be above everyone else and rules should not apply to you?

  • Do you see any tag near your profile picture?

If not, then I don't think an official warning has been issued as of yet. It was probably just gentle reminder of the guidelines.

The issues with rules, when you are administrator is, even if you don't like it, but you will have to enforce it.

So I would have just let it go.

I have asked in the past.

Always approved because I expected and expect nothing in return. No ulterior motives. Nothing for Staff to be concerned about. Therefore, all kosher.

Considering I have 3 new giveaways planned... and more queued up, as well, in general... do you think that it's sensible, or fair to me, or the mods, to approve each and everyone separately? We are adults.. We are not children.

Mod fucked up. End of story.

If he apologizes, I will apologize as well. But only for swearing, nothing else.

    I repeat: we are adults.

Rules are a set of guidelines, applied when deemed appropriate, to weed out scammers and hucksters. As others have pointed out, I am neither of those things. I have given out thousands in cash prizes to member, domains, dedicated servers, helped out to those in need. Not always publicized, and shouldn't be.

But like I said.. we are adults... you can't apply rules meant to weed out summer hosts to someome who enjoys making others happy.

Am I in the wrong here? Is the world really this black and white?
