Beware of Scammer heesoo

Hey everyone,

I recently asked in a thread "Link" about another server transfer for an HH server.

Shortly after, I received a message in the thread and then a PM from @heesoo . After some discussion and negotiating a price, we agreed, and I sent him $95 via PayPal (Friends & Family). After he didn't respond for a few minutes, I suddenly got a message that said, and I quote:

@heesoo July 8
dude, the funds were frozen. whats happening?

After that message, I got ghosted.

What am I trying to tell you?

  1. Don't be an idiot and don't trust people on the forum who don't have a solid reputation.
  2. Definitely do not trust @heesoo.

@nobizzle , indeed, it's always risky to trust a random user who sends you a DM

The user in question (= @heesoo ) doesn't qualify to advertise a service transfer

@heesoo , please clarify this situation

  • Of course I can provide screenshots of the DM if needed.

Maybe the account were not frequently used so any "big" flow in/out make the frozen thing happens. It will un-freeze eventually (forgot how long, maybe check paypal help page)
It just to prevent fraud & the money got lost in the meantime.
How to proceed ? Maybe wait for it to un-freeze :|

He was not your friend or family. So, he ripped you. Next time respect your friends and family title.

True story... I know that it's m fault to trust him in the first place. Just be aware and don't be such a fool as I was in this situation.

Friends and family transfer cannot be disputed and the sender pays the taxes/fees.

If anyone asks for friends and family transfer via paypal for product/service, hes 100% scamming you.

Not always 100%. I’ve bought transfers from people who want their money sent as F&F, and i’ve been yet to be scammed. Sometimes when I transfer, I also prefer receiving money as F&F so I don’t have to wait 30 days for it.

Yeah, second this. Most people here on LET are reputable.

But of course we all take risks when we perform service transfers.

  • Just take a look around. There were signs that I shouldn't have done this. Just be careful.

F&F isn’t the problem, people are. So always pick accounts with reasonable activity and reputation here for such things.

  • Report the account to PayPal and explain your situation. You likely won't be able to get your money back, but if the account has prior complaints, history of issues or suspicious activity, they can investigate and take further steps based on their findings. Just don't count on getting your money back unless they make an exception.

  • Oh my, he also pm'ing me on my HH request thread also. Fortunately, I saw @angstrom message on his profile that he doesn't qualify for starting a transfer thread. This trigger my suspicion and do my own check on his profile and posts thoroughly. After that, I decide to buy from other guy in my thread which look more trusted. Thanks god all went smoothly. @nobizzle, I hope you get your money back, and thanks for the warn.

I saw @angstrom warning a little bit too late unfortunately

Just to make it clear.. I transferred a lot of servers in the past. this is the first time something like that happened. I feel a little bit ashamed.. like falling for some spam mail or shit like that :dizzy:

if you ban him immediately, he cannot respond in threads or reply to DMs so any minimal chance of still solving this is going to be prevented.

however good that @nobizzle quickly put out this warning here.

    Banned.

Received information that he's a known scammer on the Chinese forums.
