Hi, First off, sorry for the late reply. It has been a busy few days. I did see the topic but did not have time yet to reply.
So in clarification. We don't calculate the VAT on the invoice of course when it's a registered business in EU or a private citizen outside the EU. But paddle automatically adds their UK VAT when they shouldn't (in our view). So they should not be calculating VAT for EU businesses nor non EU consumers. So let's say customer buys webhosting for 10 EUR ex VAT (we invoice this customer 10 euro if VAT doesn't apply). But then Paddle adds 20% automatically on checkout on their part. I have not yet received a very well statement except that they say that they are merchant of record and that's how it works with them.
I'm now in the process of checking past transaction if there are consumers which have been billed VAT twice and we will contact the clients and refund or add service credit of course and find a suitable solution and some extra compensation for the trouble for these customers. Only a small percentage of our customers use paddle for small transactions and we're even thinking of phasing it out as it's not worth the headache and the transaction fees.
So in clarification let's say a customer buys a VPS for 8 euro. The customer is an NON EU consumer, then the invoice at us payable is 8 euro via all other payment gateways. But as soon as client selects Paddle payment gateway they automatically add the UK VAT % of 20%. So this VAT does not go to us, it goes to paddle. Paddle pays us the 8 euro minus the transaction fees.
Update: We have decided to disable the paddle payment method until everything is fully cleared up at their end as well. So until further notice we will not be providing this payment solution. All other methods will be available of course.
you talk again only about non-eu-consumers (no vat) and eu-buisness-users (no vat). what about eu-consumers who have to pay vat.
It's disappointing that you keep repeating your answer to a question that no one is asking and that you don't answer the question that people (including me) have asked multiple times
I guess that this change means that double-VAT is no longer charged to private EU customers, but this would need to be confirmed
‼
they will not do quick response on complaining like this
they will do quick response on offering their service on request topic
Is your business still in operation? Invoice paid on 23rd, but still pending. Ticket no one responds

6 hours ago IPv4 went down on my Estonia VPS. Looking at mtr, it is now routed to LA. IPv6 works, but from the other replies, deadpool?
Hi, there was a problem with the IP supplier. This is being fixed in the next few minutes. Email will follow.
We sure are operational :-) . Please PM me your ticket ID and I'll look it up.
Look like 1$ shared hosting is now Deadpool, can't access it from last 12 hours. It is in Estonia
