Network question

aluyaluy Member, Patron Provider

I wonder

How much bandwidth and network speed are you currently using, and what locations and what upstreams?

If you would like to share also what you currently pay per month or per year

Thanks, just interested if anyone wants to share :)

I'm happy to share some of our numbers.

    • We get transit through some T1s and DP.
    • We connect with 2x100G minimum.
    • Most locations have more than that connected.
    • We follow the 10% rule for all our ports.
    • Our 95th% average is quite low despite the large bandwidth.
    • Our clean traffic peak is shy of 200Gbps, our largest recorded DDoS flood we mitigated (to date) was 2.31Tbit/second, and our clean 95th% globally currently is ~30Gbps.

Netcup Root server in Vienna, 2.5Gbps line, 15 EUR/month. Actual use right now is at 125GiB this month because I run a frontend. Used to be a lot more than this (1+TiB) when I didn't bother to block AI scraper bots until it started to ruin my instance, which is now blocked with Anubis. They haven't complained about excessive bandwidth use, so I assume the limit is probably much higher than this.
