Who use VENTOY on VPS ?
VENTOY can boot ISO/WIM/IMG/VHD(x)/EFI...
It support FAT32/exFAT/NTFS/UDF/XFS/Ext2(3)(4) on GPT & BIOS partitions, you can add GRUB options.
I use it sometimes, practical to boot everything.
Do you use ventoy ? Tell me about.

dunno why you'd use it on a VPS with things like netboot.xyz exist.
it's super useful for a fallback ability to reinstall a dedicated server, though.
Do all VPS people have netboot.xyz, native boot running dhcp network ?
By example they can run their windows .vhdx image, resize parts or repair something, launch mxlive...
They don't have all pro skill, isn't it ?
the question would rather be "Whoy use VENTOY on VPS ?"
Neither does Ventoy, you have to add your ISO. You might as well save the size and time to transfer using the ISO you need? The benefits of Ventoy would be if you had to ticket support for ISO upload and you only wanted to do that once.
I use the traditional way which is storing my ISOs in a USB and boot with ventoy or either burn it
Well if it can support @FAT32 then it must loaded with free giveaways
I don't know about on VPS, but looks useful for local installs, thanks
I don't use Ventoy on my VPS and I don't use it at home, either.
I began using it for awhile, and then later started reading about the Ventoy "blob" issue. It uses lots of binary blobs, and speculation was it could be a vector for security issues. At that point, I restored my systems to pre-ventoy state and just bought some extra flash drives.

It looks like the author is starting to respond now, which is a good sign, but I'll stay away, personally. For more, just search "ventoy blobs."
Well Ventoy use it's own and external verified source code & binaries, and update fastly.
But generally it's used to boot something to install, repair, test,... and afterthat you do no more use ventoy boot binaries.
If you use Ventoy at home on an external ssd disk, there is no problem at all.
So it will be no problem at all, if any could exist.
If you're interested, you can read up on it. It's speculation, and there's no evidence right now that there's any problem.
But of course, it's intimately involved in booting your system. If compromised, it could flash new firmware to your motherboard, modify attached storage, etc.
Even your box, router, smartphone, fridge, tv, usb stick, ssd, accesspoint,..., can be compromised
, so never use net things ?
You know all things can have backdoors, like basic windows os.
Yes, there's all sorts of things that can be compromised. But, if it's an open source project, the code can be reviewed by others. But if it's got a huge list of binary blobs that are being used, those can't really be reviewed. It's a similar thing that happend with xz-utils.
As i read, binary blobs used are compiled and verified/reviewed (external) open source.
So it's similar you use openbox or openwrt,... or some community debian packages.
I'm not a judge for that, but Ventoy can help a lot and symplify your work.
Did you look at the list of binary blobs being used?
https://github.com/ventoy/Ventoy/issues/3224
It's a huge list; longer than I want to count. And for most of them, there's no verification or proof that they haven't been tampered with.
If you search "ventoy blobs" for yourself, you'll see there are many people concerned about this issue. In the end, you can decide for yourself if the risk profile is acceptable or not. For me, it wasn't.
Yes of course.
You can find a list for everything as i said. So you will no more use high-tech.
Be carreful 5G antennas can deploy malware
Have a good day, please do no more answer, i don't want a debat about here.
I don't use it for VPS but I use it for my laptop. It is very convenient. Instead of having 5 different pendrives for each windows/linux iso, I can use a single pendrive with ventoy + all isos.
