@Darius there is no EPYC Milan processor that has 4.5 GHz CPU on Earth. The “issue” is that CPU passthru is disabled on 7950X3D on the hypervisor due to some bugs (can’t recall what), so the hypervisor falls back to a generic “EPYC Milan” string instead. Run the YABS and you’ll see a GB6 of around 2600+ single core which no EPYC Milan can actually do.

I encountered this issue with HostBrr and was told by @labze about the passthru being disabled, hence this “Milan” issue. I’m not a DeluxHost customer and am not defending the provider here, just stating (from an independent unbiased perspective) what is actually going on.

Kernel issues causes AMD 7950XD / 9950X CPUs to crash with nested virtualization enabled. I believe recent kernels fixed this by simply disabling it for affected CPUs. AMD never officially supported this.

Disabling host passthrough resolves this issue or it can be disabled on a system level. Without host passthrough the system cannot identify the CPU model and falls back to AMD Milan.

Yes, that's what we were told by Virtfusion support, and that's what we tried to do, Just for test.

As you can see, unfortunately it is difficult to explain this to customers 😅

Is this the reason why enterprises still can't move on from the Intel behemoth?

Hey @DeluxHost , any issues with KVM virtualisation on the M-4 VPSs?
I run a proxmox node on an M-4 and VMs won't start even though they previously worked fine.
BTW, it's not the first time this happened.

In the specific node there seems to be a problem with the Nested, if you open a ticket we will move you to another node with the same processor without problems

Holy shit, im running Windows Server 2022 in a Docker container on a Deluxhost M-4 VPS running Ubuntu.
That is literally a VPS running QEMU in a docker container that is running a windows image which adds two more layers from guest to OS. Only 53 dropped out of 1973 frames running 1440p. Idk, to me, thats just insane for 35 euros a year lol

If you open a ticket we can check right away :)

However, the results are excellent, considering that I have read around that some people complain that the M nodes are over-soldered and unusable, I think this can easily be denied.😄

    @DeluxHost VM-x/AMD-V : ❌ Disabled ? No virtualization? No docker, proxmox?

Docker does not need virtualization. Proxmox works fine if you only use LXC. Also, most vps providers don't provide this.

Unfortunately, we decided on this solution for the Ryzen nodes, or at least for the majority of them, as we had stability problems sometimes.

But you can request to be moved to a node with virtualization enabled if you want, or at least it should be possible, I recommend you open a ticket and ask.

    Nice offers

  • I have seen VPS running slow since I bought it but when I checked YABS again, your IOPS is very low... I want you to explain why it is so slow?

    I am using Offer M - M-4 package

I am interested in one of the two tariffs, when will they be available, or how can I order, maybe there is a way to negotiate.

Also, what are the available OS for installation, is it possible to install the old OS Centos 7 or add and install your own ISO image?

They won't do anything, even if you open a ticket. Cancel at the end of the month and move on! The control panel and VPS consistently said my VPS had 1.87 GB of memory and the host said that mean the VPS had 4 GB of memory!
