Seems it will derail the topic of price increase, but I still want to paste the update of the previous incident of the ram story.
I have a ks-b, normally a 32gb ram machine, but only with 16gb now. Some time ago I opened a ticket and wanted to have the other half installed, and the attempt failed. The OVH team replaced the ram but it later showed 16g instead of 32g.
Today I tried the Chat method with one of the support agent. From the response, I was told the half 16gb was not mounted. It has 32gb, but half of that was not mounted. They are again handling this weird event. Hope this time, the lost memory incident can be entirely solved.
I only hear about the hard disk or the drive mounting, but not about memory, or maybe something else mounting. Is this a regular step to mount a piece of memory/stick before booting the whole machine?
If my KS-LE-B does identify as KS-MYSTERY, does that count too?
I recently had problems with the RAM on an Advance-1 server with 128GB RAM (4x DIMMs).
The server was taken on a 12-month commitment and 10 days after installation proxmox started freezing every few hours (only the Reset button brought it back to life, the console was also frozen).
At my request they checked the RAM [about 6h downtime], they found nothing suspicious but still replaced all the DIMMs as I requested.
10 days later the same scenario was repeated, and there was nothing wrong with the memory according to memtest [+6h downtime] but after the second replacement the server was stable again.
I managed to convince them to make me a commercial gesture and let me buy another identical server with a 12-month commitment and cancel my old one and that's what happened.
So, anyone who was going to order an Advanced-1 with 128GB RAM in Germany would not have had the most stable server because it was not retired, for OVH it was perfectly functional.
