1 TB NBD Cloud Storage! Only $1.50 per month! 10 gb/s shared. NEW from the makers of mach3db!

Hi,

NBD is a bulletproof technology that hasn't received enough attention.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_block_device

NBD allows you to mount a .img file on a remote server as if it was a local hard drive.

After the .img is mounted, you can save files to it by simply dragging them into the folder!

I'm offering NBD storage hosted on my dedicated server for you to try out.

All files are saved on 16 TB enterprise SAS drives in RAID 1 for ultimate reliability!

It's only $1.50 per month per terabyte (TB).

Anyone can afford it!

The server has 32 CPU cores and a 10 gigabit Internet connection, so it should be able to handle your file storage needs.

My server is in Texas.

Please do not try to host your files publicly or use up all of the server's bandwidth.

This is a remote storage solution, not a web hosting or file sharing solution.

The ease of use of NBD is the main selling point.

--

On Linux, you can use nbd-client to mount the .img that lives on my server.

On Windows, you can use https://cloudbase.it/ceph-on-windows-part-1/ (follow the WNBD instructions)

I haven't seen an nbd client for Mac yet.

--

You should fill your whole NBD image with a VeraCrypt volume: https://veracrypt.io
Then, save your files inside of the VeraCrypt volume.
This will ensure that all of your data is encrypted before being sent to my server.
I will have no way of looking through your private files!

--

This is an offering from We Sell SaaS LLC, makers of mach3db and VectorCheetahDB.

Please contact james {at} wesellsaas.com to try our NBD Cloud Storage service.

We accept payment via PayPal G&S.

Thanks!

There is no order form right now, please email james {at} wesellsaas.com if you want to make a purchase.

If you google mach3db / VectorCheetahDB you will find a lot of stuff I've written about it.
However they are not famous programs so there are no third party posts about it.

As for trust, if you use VeraCrypt all of your data is encrypted, so I can't access it.

The server is in a reputable datacenter and the data is stored on enterprise SAS drives in hardware RAID 1.

    Thanks!

Last I tried nbd it didn’t take kindly to connection dropouts, has this improved? In my experience iscsi is worth the faff

Do you have IPv6 and iSCSI?

  • artxsartxs Member

ceph needs at least 10gbps in a LAN and you're going to access it over the internet via raw block storage. this is what failure looks like.

@yoursunny It is NBD, which is a competitor of iSCSI.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_block_device

I can get an IPv6 address if you need it for some reason.

    @artxs

You do not need to be on a LAN to connect to an NBD share.

I have already tested it over the Internet.

BTW, the server has a 10 gbps connection already.

    Thanks
